20 lbs. 5,000 sq. ft. Lawn Restore Dry Fertilizer (1-Pack)

I put down this fertilizer about a month ago, and my grass is green and thick (picture attached). As is the case with these things, its hard to say how much of this is attributable to the recent conditions (lots of sun but also some heavy rain) or the product, but I can say the lawn didn't burn which is always a risk fertilizing this time of year. One comment on the fertilizer itself - its brown, which while I'm sure its more natural than some of the bright colors other brands use, its hard to see where the fertilizer is going. You just have to trust your spreader is distributing evenly.

This is an all season, no burn fertilizer per the package's directions. It is also good for all lawns. There are no disclaimers about treating certain types of grass blend. This is a key component for our lawn since we have a mix of fescue, bermuda and st. augustine. This fertilizer is granule and can be spread with a hand feeder or a walk behind trough. There are no phosphates in the blend. It say it is a no odor fertilizer. This is a little misleading. The bag upon opening smells like fertilizer. But I will say, once applied on the lawn, that dissipates and there really is no odor. While my first run of this fertilizer was in the summer time, I did not see a noticeable difference in the grass turning greener (still very green, just not greener). But I did see more growth. The description says that it promotes healthy soil by returning nutrients to the soil as well as the grass (nitrogen and potash) Only time will tell. But so far, this is an affordable fertilizer blend that appears to work.

Lawn Restore is made from organic materials consisting of different types of plant meal, alfalfa, molasses, nitrogen and potash. It contains no manure (or manure smell) and is non-burning. I applied Lawn Restore the morning after a soaking rainstorm so as to help with activating the fertilizer. The manufacturer recommends keeping the ground moist for 3-4 days afterwards. With regards to application, I used a Scott’s Turfbuilder DLX broadcast spreader. Unfortunately, there is only a limited listing of spreaders and their respective settings supplied on the packaging. I took off 1 star for that. I reached out to Safer Brand’s customer support to inquire about the proper setting for my spreader. After a little back and forth, the rep informed me that the information and links that I provided regarding the Turfbuilder spreader would be forwarded to their Product Manager and they suggested a middle-of-the-road setting for now. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that they'll do the R&D for my spreader. In the meantime, I used a setting of 5 (out of 15) to apply it. As with most any lawn product, the visible results are a little hard to determine right off but there have been no adverse affects either. Some areas that were browning are starting to show signs of improvement – so there’s that. The 25 lb. Bag covers 6250 sq. ft. I've included some pictures to give an idea of what size yard it can cover. It’s competitively priced. In fact, it was a little cheaper on the Safer Brand's website. I feel better about not applying chemicals to the lawn and I’ll give Lawn Restore at least a year (4 applications) before I decide to continue using it or try something else. TBH, I think it’s something of a miracle that anything *at all* can grow in Georgia's clay / soil.

The product worked great just as it says restore your yard

Our back lawn was non-existent. It was that hard, dry, clay-like dirt you find in Virginia. We ordered the Ringer Lawn Restore II Fertilizer and applied it to our front yard (sodded last year) and to our back yard which was bare. The results were remarkable. Within 2 weeks, we had grass growing in the back yard, and the front yard spots were filling in. I am soo happy. Now our front yard looks as good as our neighbors who have been here for years! I know over the next few weeks our back yard will be beautiful as well. I am comparing it to our neighbor who moved in approximately 6 months before we did. The pictures attached do not do the yard justice, because of the straw, but you can see how the grass is growing through the straw!! My husband put straw down so that the birds would not eat the seed and he wants the straw to stay on for a little while longer before we mow our new backyard lawn :)
