No Adverse Smell
I get fruit flies from time to time. I am not sure why as I do not leave open wine or fruit on the counters. They are definitely fruit flies because they love to dive into my wine. I liked this fruit fly trap because I didn't think my cats would care about it. I did put it behind the treat jars on the counter to avoid any chance of them playing with it or accidentally knocking it over. They never tried to get to it. There is no smell and it is very easy to set up. It takes care of the fruitflies for about 45 days. I haven't noticed any but I looked in and saw some bugs. It is obviously working. I am going to suggest this to other friends and family of mine. I'm very happy with it.

Works like a champ
We gave this a try and were pleasantly surprised by the results. The system is a 1 time use, so buy a couple and it will get you through the summer months. This is an easy system to use, just add the includedix to the center of the trap and set it in a good place. The fruit flies will fly inside and never come out. Clever idea, just wish there were refills and a way to clean it out for multiple uses.

Cute way to get the job done
Catching fruit flies is not particularly difficult. A little vineger and a drop of soap, and you've got a cheaply renewable trap...that also looks a little tacky sitting on your counter, and runs the very real risk of being bumped or sloshed around if you're not pretty careful. This little trap is much cuter and far less likely to splash soapy vinegar all over your counter. The one major downside is, of course, the wastefulness. You discard the trap after 45 days and it is not an insubstantial amount of plastic. So personally I'm keeping this one around for when we have house guests this summer and want to keep the counter looking nice, but I can't in good conscience imagine continuing to buy a resource-intensive trap when a bowl of vinegar and soap does the job just fine.

No Chemical Insecticides Here!
We have a pretty bad fly season here in Phoenix every year. It's not uncommon to get bad fly infestations that last about a month. Trying to rid my home of these pests can be exhausting, so I'm happy to try any product that offers helpful solutions! When I saw this Safer Home fruit fly trap, I wanted to try it in my home, as it's getting to be that season again. The flies are swarming everywhere and it's very easy for them to get in the house. This product is easy to use - you just open the bottle of liquid and squirt it into the orange container. Then you place it wherever you have flies - near the trash can, in the garage, or on counters where you keep fruit. So far, the trap has caught a few gnats and baby flies, but no adult flies yet. The opening at the top is rather small, so I'm not sure how easy it is for adult-size flies to actually get into the trap. That's my only question about this product. I'll continue to keep an eye on it; hopefully it will help keep the flies under control. The liquid has a somewhat pungent "vinegar" smell, but no chemical odors whatsoever and the product website states that the liquid is non-staining. This appears to be an all-natural product which I like, especially with pets in the house. The product packaging does state, however, to keep the trap in a place where it can't be knocked over. Even if this product catches only baby flies, I'll be happy with that. Great to catch them before they mature and continue breeding.

Easy , safe and cute !
The Safer Brand Safer HOme Fruit Fly Trap is the easiest, safest and cutest way to get rid of fruit flies on the market. What's not to love about having this cute little orange ball sitting on your counter? The liquid inside draws the flies in through the little openings then they can't get out and eventually drown in the fluid. It has no chemical insecticides and is safe when used as directed. Very simple to use. Easy to follow directions. Discard after 45 days use.

Cute little fruit fly trap, suitable for small spaces
We have a compost bin on the kitchen counter all the time, and it takes about a week to fill up, so sometimes we get a fruit fly build up. This is a little persimmon-colored and shaped fruit fly trap. It supposedly lures or attracts fruit flies and traps them so they are unable to breed and make more fruit flies. It's assembled by draining the small vial of liquid into the reservoir. I've been using this for about a week and it seems to be working so far. It's supposed to work for 30 days, whereupon you need to replace the trap. The liquid is safe to use in a food preparation area, so it should be ok to use on the kitchen counter in case of spills.

Cute and functional
I’ve been doing my own DIY fruit fly traps for years and my way isn’t cutting it. I love this little trap because it’s doesn’t look atrocious on my counter like my DIY traps and it also works so much better. It comes with a little bottle of solution that smells similar to apple cider vinegar, so there aren’t any bad chemical smells. I placed it by my fruit bowl and it’s already doing it’s job! I love that it’s refillable and reusable.

Good Bye Bugs
Florida has bugs all year long. Now is the beginning of fruit fly season. Ours are so small they are hard to spot and harder to catch. Safer Home Fruit Fly Traps work with a food based liquid bait that does not contain pesticides. It is safe around pets and children. The trap is a little larger than a tangelo. It holds one small vile of bait, continues working for forty-five days then can be toasted into the garbage. It fits right in with the fruit, no one will even notice it is there until you point it out!

Clever and unobtrusive
Every so often we have a fruit fly problem, probably from a batch of bananas carrying so unwelcome guests. The problem with fruit flies is that they breed fast once they show up, so just when you think you have elimitated them all another generation appears. We have tried leaving out stale wine in a small wine glass, which occasionally brings results - the idea being that the smell of the wine draws the flies in to the glass, they drink it and then have a hard time flying out and drown. This trap appears to operate on the same principle but is much better - first of all you can hide it in the fruit bowl because it is similar in size and color to a mandarin orange. Having holes in the top rather than being open (like a glass) makes it harder for the flies to escape. They say to discard the trap after 45 days of use which just seems a waste - the included attractant smells a little like vinegar so it will be interesting to experiment with rinsing out the trap and adding old wine or fruit juice once we use it up - no need to throw the trap away!

These traps work!
We've had more issues with fruit and drain flies in recent years, so when they start to show up we use traps like this one to catch the flies and break the life cycle. The kit has all you need to start taking care of your fly problem. Just open the bottle of bait, put it in the trap and sit it near where your problem is. The flies are drawn to the bait, fly in and that's all she wrote. You can reuse the trap by cleaning it out and making your own recipe for bait.
