Hi EW Katy Tx, We apologize for your experience with the 22 cu. ft. Food Showcase Counter Depth 4-Door French Door Refrigerator in Stainless Steel was less than ideal. We appreciate all feedback that helps us understand how to improve our products. Thank you for taking the time to leave this review. Samsung's ice makers are designed to stop when they're full. There are two methods for this: an optical sensor or a mechanical arm, which detects when ice has piled high enough. If your ice maker won't stop making ice, it means ice is not piling high enough to reach the sensor or arm, typically because the ice bucket is not in the proper position. I ordered online, and had the appliance delivered. The online experience was simple, and scheduling delivery was a breeze. The refrigerator is beautiful! I have 2 boys, and the fingerprints have been minimal. This is not the stainless of the past. I really like the fridge drawer, for juice boxes and cold snacks. The kids can just grab them. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase!

Part of a whole Home Depot kitchen remodel. Purchased October of 2016. Sat unused for several months due to a problem with counter top company ( Home Depot cut me a check, happy out come)...We were smart enough to purchase the extended warranty which is covered by Asurion. We have since had the front digital panel replaced, Ice maker replaced and 2 circuit boards. 2 times we lost all of our food and Asurion cut me a check both times. Ice maker broke again and they refused to fix it and cut me a check for the purchase price plus tax..That was ok but now a shelf has split from the glass. This fridge is a nightmare but it is so pretty. If you do buy it get the extended warranty!

        Garbage... Never again Samsung
Ice maker has frizen several times and it is almost impossible to open and thaw. Today is the first time that I come to read all the other horrible reviews in this refrigerator and come to find out that my warranty expired earlier this year. The other thing that is TERRIBLE in this refrigerator is the cabinet inside the freezer. Its impossible to move without feeling you are going to break it. NEVER again a Samsung appliance.

Beautiful fridge, but a few concerns. I've had my Samsung Showcase counter depth fridge for three months. I chose it after visiting my local HD store. Compared with other brands and models, this one stood out for its good looks and its open, brightly lit interior plus I really fell in love with the Showcase door and the deli drawer after trying them out in person. Many great features, but I do have some pros and cons to share with prospective buyers. PROS: 1. This fridge is gorgeous! I chose the black fingerprint resistant finish over the stainless finish and I'm SO glad I did. I was afraid the black would be too dark, but nope. It's a stylish gunmetal gray, not black at all, actually. If you're unsure which to choose, ask yourself if you love the look of shiny stainless *more than* you hate the look of fingerprints on stainless. I love the look of stainless, *but* I loathe constantly cleaning fingerprints off stainless so much more. (I purchased a GE stove last year that does not have fingerprint resistant stainless and I hate that thing so much. I regret buying it every single day.) 2. Love the French doors. We had a side-by-side for 12 years and it served us well. We thought it was so clever when we bought it, but over the years I got tired of trying to get at my stuff and fit larger items like pizza or birthday cakes in such a narrow space. This is much nicer. I can open the doors wide and see everything. Bright interior lighting helps as well. 3. Love the Showcase door! SO much faster to grab the milk, which I do about 20x a day. Brilliant idea that saves hauling the whole door open for frequently used items and letting all the cold air out. 4. Like that you can set the fridge, freezer and snack drawer to specific temperatures (as opposed to a numbered dial where you're just guessing). 5. The snack drawer is awesome. No more yogurt containers or sodas falling on me or toppling over inside the fridge. The adjustable inner divider is quite nifty. The quick-slide mechanism on the divider is very simple, but quite genius, allowing you to corral items fast. Everyone who tries it loves this drawer. I use mine mostly for drinks and what I love about that is when a friend comes over or my kids have their friends here it's easy for everyone to see all their options and choose something. No digging around to see if there's a coke buried at the back of the fridge. 6. Really like the alert function for when a door is left open by mistake. It just makes a gentle "bing bing bing" noise, too. Very easy on the ear. Great if you have children. 7. The counter depth option is very convenient. Sure, I'd love a honking great fridge twice this size, but our fridge is situated in a narrow space - a constant logjam spot and very annoying for all of us. Nothing we can do about it short of completely redesigning the kitchen which is not in the cards. Therefore, I leapt on the counter depth option. Yes, of course you sacrifice interior space, but it looks much nicer than our old fridge which stuck out an additional few inches into the room. This still projects a couple inches from the cabinets on either side, but it looks much more streamlined. I was willing to lose a bit of storage room to get that look. What I would say to shoppers is consider carefully if you'll be happy with your choice if you go with counter depth. I've been amazed how many reviewers order this model and then complain it is smaller than their old fridge. Don't be that person. It's like buying a carry-on suitcase and then complaining because it doesn't fit your saxophone. 8. The interior shelves can be rearranged quite a few different configurations to suit your needs. The slide-back half shelf is clever. Okay, now for the negatives… CONS: 1. The ice maker. Yes, like 90% of reviewers I came here to warn you about the ice maker. I saw those reviews but got this fridge anyway, figuring odds were it wouldn’t happen to us, but it's true: it gets blocked up all the time. When researching my purchase, I read an article by a well-known consumer organization saying choose a fridge without an ice maker/water in the door because they are notorious for breaking. I wish I'd followed that advice, but it's hard to find a fridge that doesn't have this feature. The ice machine in our old fridge died very early into its life and now we're dealing with this one after only three months of (very minimal) use. Terrible. Which brings me to … 2. The water dispenser regularly refuses to work. Previously when it happened, I dumped the ice and waited a while and it would work again. A couple days ago that trick didn't work, but then it randomly began functioning again yesterday. Extremely poor quality with the water/ice, Samsung! 3. The sliding storage drawer in the freezer keeps coming off the rails and jams up. I saw one reviewer complaining the drawer doesn't open wide enough to access the main part of the freezer drawer, but that is because their drawer needs repositioning until its wheels are touching the track on either side. The drawer doesn't slide very smoothly even when it is correctly positioned. It feels kind of flimsy. 4. So I know this counter depth fridge has to sacrifice space somewhere, but there isn't much space for condiments in the doors. In particular, the left inside door storage space is ridiculously tiny. I actually did some research on which condiments can survive not being refrigerated and just took them all out for good. Basically anything with high acidity like mustard, hot sauces and ketchup I now keep unrefrigerated in a plastic bin. It's okay, again just think through if this would bother you. 5. The shelves are adjustable and/or removable, but there is almost nowhere to put tall things like opened bottles of wine! The interior right side door's upper shelves can be removed, but not repositioned to suit your needs. Very frustrating. I'd love to move the middle shelf up just a couple inches even to make room for something taller than a carton or gallon of milk on the bottom shelf. It's possible to remove the smallest shelf at the top of the inside door to make room for taller items on the middle shelf, but unfortunately that only increases the middle shelf's height to the same at the bottom one! Still not tall enough for a large bottle of wine. (!!!) 6. Veg/meat drawers are extremely small! They are deceptively deep, so you can squeeze quite a bit in there with some careful planning, but nowhere big enough for my needs as I buy lots of fresh vegetables. 7. One handle is already a bit loose. I'll have to figure out how to tighten it. 8. The bottom right shelf in the main part of the fridge (not the inside door) has that clever slide-back shelf. You can slide the front half of the shelf back out of the way so in theory you can put something taller on bottom shelf underneath that wouldn't otherwise fit there. But, problem is, to make that work there is an annoying metal piece at the back of the slide-back shelf that prevents you from putting deeper items all the way to the back, so it's basically a few inches of unusable space at the bottom right. Bottom line: this fridge is absolutely beautiful with some clever features, but the quality and functionality are lower than I'd hoped for a fridge in this price range. I'm on the fence about whether to recommend it or not. My advice would be go to the store and try out the display model and really think through how you'd use the space. (Just be aware the display model may not be the counter depth model.)

I purchased this refrigerator in September 2017. Within 3-4 months rust began to appear across the surface. As the rust continued to become more pronounced, shapes and patterns began to appear. The rust was most noticeable where the original packing foam rubbed against the steel surface during shipping, and clearly created a distinct pattern showing exactly where the foam was rubbing on the surface. Corrosion rust also began to appear along the inside edges where the metal connects to the plastic frame. Around this same time the ice-maker began freezing into a solid block of ice and would stop working. The only fix is to chip the ice-block into pieces with a chisel to free the ice-maker mechanism. I need to do that a couple times a week. Finally, the freezer door shelf doesn't fit tightly into it's tracks and comes out easily, which jams the shelf and door from closing correctly. I filed a warranty claim to have all of these issues addressed and after 10 weeks of phone calls, emails, and sending photos Samsung refused to warranty the rust - claiming it was only cosmetic. They never sent anyone to inspect the rust. The decision was arbitrary and based only on the small print in the warranty that states, "Cosmetic rust is not covered." The rust is clearly not cosmetic. It was caused due to poor quality materials during manufacturing and during shipping, and should be warrantied. I am now forced to pursue legal action to resolve my claim. Furthermore, I was told by a Samsung service agent during one of my many wasted phone calls, that the refrigerator was sold as, "Having the appearance of Stainless Steel. It may not actually be Stainless Steel." This is deceiving and not what we thought we were buying. We would never have purchased a Stainless Steel appliance that was not actually Stainless Steel, nor was it advertised that way. This experience has been terrible and I cannot recommend this refrigerator or any Samsung appliance products.

Be advised, you'll need to take some shelves out if you want to fit anything even as tall as a bottle of salad dressing on the shelf in the fridge. We took the top shelf off the right door so we could fit more drinks. Also, since the water/ice dispenser is on the left door, most of those shelves are very thin. That made it necessary to keep most of our usual condiments on the shelves inside the fridge, instead of on the door as we had in the past. Not a problem, just different. Also, the veggie and lunch meat drawers can't be opened all the way as they bump into the fridge doors that do not open a full 180 degrees....See pictures

New home new refrigerator. We've now had it about one month and love it. Especially like the drawer. I didn't want stainless but the choices were limited. So far I haven't found it to be difficult to maintain.
