A:  We appreciate you clarifying if the refrigerator's inside light comes on when the door opens, Shannon. As per page 35, the last bullet (STEP 9 Final check) of the installation guidelines of the user manual. It states, "The door opens and closes freely, and the interior light turns on automatically when you open it." To prevent the use of the dispenser panel buttons and the dispenser lever, press, and hold Water/Ice for over 3 seconds. If you press and hold the button again for more than 3 seconds, the dispenser lock will be deactivated. NOTE • The Dispenser Lock on the dispenser panel does not affect the controls on the main panel. To lock the main panel, use the Control Lock function on the main panel. • If you press Water/Ice for 3 seconds when both the control lock and dispenser lock are active, you will deactivate both the control lock and dispenser lock.           There's not a ton of counter depth options, but this has worked out well so far. Not a crazy amount of options and features but it gets the job done. 6 months of use so far and no issues.

              NO NOT BUY THIS FRIDGE!
              i literally had to watch a youtube video on how to get the shelf and the glass out! you have to take both drawers out to get to a press & release button to get the shelf out & then turn the shelf over & take the shelf apart to get the glass out. this sucks, and if not done correctly, the clip will break. watch the video and see for yourself. the left door to the side by side has a lip that can open & close. if you are in a hurry and go to close the door, sometimes it pops open & blocks you while banging on the right door. i have to lay some of my drinks on their side on the top shelf to get them in there or else forfeit space. you cant just reach in there and get ice, or reach in there and pop out the extra ice to add it to a freezer or pitcher. i wish i had a full refund!

                "Ice Max" Is Samsung's joke for "single ice maker"
                aside from samsung's pathetic ux design for their desktop site (mobile site is all but unusable), their advertisement for products like this one use all the same images as their higher tier models. the filters for filtering products based on features doesn't work and even if it did most of them are covered up by the "experts online" popup. so after i was given a refund for a defective and no longer produced product i was told this unit was it's equivalent. everything was identical (including the still leaking water dispenser) but it doesn't have the 2nd ice maker which was an important feature to me.

                  Good refrigerator but poor crisper design
                  i have had this refrigerator for about 8 months now and have been mostly pleased with it - the ice and water functions work well and it keeps everything at the correct temperature. it does a great job of managing space and has lots of interior room for the size. however, the crisper drawers are not sealed and watertight! there is a small gap at the front bottom of the crisper drawers that allow liquid and small particles to pass into that can't be reached with any type of cleaning utensil! i have never had crisper drawers that aren't water tight before! it is a poor design that could easily allow mold or bacteria to grow easily in a spot that could be out of sight.

                    Bad workmanship, manual, high pitch noise
                    #1: door mounting plastic bins fails to fully sit on the door slots, with wide gaps at the bottom edges, as shown in these 2 photos: #2: the clip on the top edge of the left door for shipping protection is neither easily visible for person of average height, nor mentioned anywhere in the the user manual. i only spotted it by chance. i bet most houses still have it un-removed years later: #3: intermittent high pitch noise is loud enough to irritate most people. not sure from which cycle it comes from. #4: the user manual is poorly written to the extreme. for example, it says you must not use third party water filer but fails to tell you which filter to buy and from where. there is no specification section to give you any clue, nor an index section to quickly locate relate pages.

                      i thought samsung was quality. i was wrong. i can’t use half of my refrigerator. the bracket that holds the lowest shelf with the drawers cracked and broke off. i just got this refrigerator in january. the whole thing is made out of cheap brittle plastic and drawers keep breaking. samsung care said they will not cover it so i can barely use it! what a waste of money. this refrigerator is junk. look at the bad reviews and don’t waste your money.

                        Beautiful and a little noisy
                        It's a nice addition to my kitchen. Works just as it should. The storage spaces are very convenient. I'm enjoying the French door design. I'm still adjusting to the sounds of the new fridge, it is a bit loud, which is the only reason I didn't rate it 5 stars.

                        Do your homework
                        Everyone gives this 5 stars in the first six months of owning it. You need to research what happens after you’ve had it for a year and a half. The refrigerator coils begin to freeze up every 4-5 months, and the refrigerator will go up to 70 degrees. All of the food is ruined. (Freezer still works fine though, thank God). You’ll call service for a $200 hundred dollar repair. After 2-3 of these the repairman will kindly tell you to “buy another refrigerator” because there is no permanent fix.
