Don't buy this microwave - only lasted 2 years.
Purchased from Home Depot - it is a sleek microwave looks great, fit well over the stove - it worked great but died after only a few years - for over $400+ purchase the microwave should have lasted longer than just a few years. Seems like a rip off to only last a few years. Samsung was supposed to win the JD Power Award for customer service - I disagree.

This microwave made a horrible noise the first time it was demonstrated by the installer. It was operational for an entire day and a half before it completely died. While it worked for less than 2 days, in that time frame the buttons were extremely difficult to engage and it would only work if you had a muscular thumb. Dealing with Samsung has been an absolute nightmare. I have wasted hours on the phone trying to get a repair, exchange or refund. It has been a month and still waiting. Do not purchase this microwave, and unless you have hours to deal with the stress and frustration that stems from the Samsung company, choose a different brand!!!

Great Microwave & Nice Features
I bought this microwave to replace a 6 year old Samsung unit, and to match up with my Samsung Chef's Collection, slide in range. My selection amounted to really liking the glass touch sensitive buttons on the range, and my desire to get away from the mylar touch panels that seem to have problems. As a microwave, it has more than enough features to keep me happy, so I'd like to highlight the best of the features here: The positioning of the counter top lights is in the front section of the unit, so they really light up the cooking surface of the range. In addition, they are LED units that have a nice cool white light. (see photo# The interior of the unit is lit by a nice, bright halogen bulb, and even though the interior is gray in color it is still adequate. I like that the counter top lights can be set up to go on and off at a preselected time, and they come on at low brightness to greet us in the morning. The unit is much quieter than any other one we've ever owned. The exhaust fan has 4 speeds that range from muted in sound all the way up to the usual roar on high. Mounting was speeded up a bit because I was able to continue using the wall mounting plate from my old unit with no need to move it. Unfortunately, Samsung has changed mounting bolt locations that go thru the bottom of the cabinet above it. This required very careful locating, and drilling, along with moving the existing reinforcing under the bottom of the cabinet. Not a big deal for me, but some folks might feel challenged doing this themselves. The sensor cooking buttons work very well, and do a great job on popcorn or reheating a plate of food. You should be aware that when you use the sensor cooking, the manual recommends you wait for 5 minutes before you use sensor cooking again #I assume to allow the sensors to clear their sniffers). The only thing I feel worth noting is that with the glass / touch sensitive buttons, use up about 1/3 of the total glass surface on the door. This coupled with a noticeably denser screen to look thru, makes watching your food cook a bit harder for both short and tall folks.

A great microwave!
We are currently updating our kitchen and bought the whole suite of Samsung appliances. The microwave was really easy to install above our oven/stove. It works great and we have not had any problems with it. The one thing I wish it had was a "quick start" button. Our old microwave (15 years old!) had this and you could push the one button and it would go for :30 seconds. Not a huge deal, just will take some getting used to and changing habits. We bought this on Clearance from our local store, so we got a great deal, which makes us love it even more.

Worst Microwave We Have Ever Owned
Within the first week of owning this microwave most of the buttons only worked intermittently. One day the 1 3 or 5 wouldn't work and the next something different. We were forced to use the +30 seconds button because it was the only button to work consistently. It also started making a loud noise while on after just a few months, and now it died after only around a year. Spending around $450 for a microwave to only last about a year is absolutely ridiculous. After reading the reviews everyone seems to have this problem. What are you going to do to remedy this Samsung?

Avoid this microwave like the plague.
this is the worse microwave ever: we are on our fourth oven and the problem continues. it will trip the breaker switch. the wiring was checked and found to be fine. we tried to just accept our fate and deal with the problem, but it is annoying and frustrating. i would not wish this oven on my worse enemy. to top if off, samsung cs said since there is no service center close to is, we must find a way to repair the microwave. terrible cs to match a terrible appliance.

I know how frustrating it can be when results and expectations do not quite meet. Thank you very much for sharing your experience. Your feedback helps us understand how we can better our products and service. ^Pat
Looked great, but flawed from the start.
as a result of the great cosmetics, the viewing window size is reduced, which made it difficult for my wife to look up and see inside the unit. the touchpad failed to work for many of the buttons. samsung replaced, less than 1 year later most of the keys stopped working again and we have to use the "30 seconds" button exclusively. the venting lacks significant power...the airflow from this unit is barely discernible at the outlet (external venting, about 8-feet ducting). the screen for the vent pops-out on its own, which can startle you while cooking on the range. now the entire unit has failed. so, trendy/expensive appliance that was released before the engineering details were worked out, yet it is warranted as proven technology. i don't enjoy being a consumer "guinea pig"...bad samsung!
