Answer

You do need the SmartThings app. Create an account there and then enable the SmartThings skill in the Alexa app. Connect the accounts and then yes, there’s a button on the oven itself to enable voice controls. However, I find that it stays enabled for at least a couple days. I notice it goes off from time to time and I wonder if my Wi-Fi connection cuts out and that’s what turns it off. It also will turn off when you open the oven door before using the voice control. Probably for safety. All of those things being true it’s still way easier to tap the button and then use voice controls. Best part about it is turning the oven off by voice when you’re sitting at the dinner table and realize you forgot the oven on.

6 Months old
We purchased this Samsung product on 08/13/2021. I have to say, I love Samsung and most of their products. This electric range is definitely a disappointment. Not worth the value. After 6 months of use, it looks like a 10 year old stove, the black coating is starting to peel off and, be aware, the warranty does not cover this. I’ve been on the phone with Samsung costumer service over an hour and a half just so they can tell me that there is nothing they will do. If thinking about buying this item, think twice and invest your $$ somewhere else.

Awesome product with a lot of features
We just got it and we love all the features and technology. When I bought it I didn’t realize how much was available on this model. Price was right so that why I purchased it for a slide in. Makes our kitchen look so different too.

best rage i have ever owned
we received this range on the 28 of december and have been using it for almost 3 weeks. everything works perfectly. we love having the wifi feature to be able to use the smart things app with it. i especially like how it tells the oven's current internal temperature as it is preheating and while it is in use.

DANGEROUS - fire risk
the burner and oven controls are way too sensitive - they will turn on at the slightest touch or bump with no indication they are on. we have burned hands several times, and almost started several fires. the last straw was a serious kitchen fire when the burner was accidentally turned on while a pan with grease was on top. we were not in the kitchen and had our smoke detectors not alerted us, the entire house would have caught fire. this particular flaw has been reported multiple times with the same outcomes (fire) on other samsung range models as well. this is a serious and dangerous design flaw that should be rectified immediately, along with a product recall.

Easy Reach For Disabled
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] enjoy the ease to reach knobs and setting controls. exterior finger print resistant finish is also very nice. only disappointment would be the plastic knobs used to control the burner. hard to understand why they would cheapen the one part that you touch/use most often. bought on-line, so never got to touch, had i seen in person, i likely would not have purchased. will be keeping my eye out for metal replacement knobs that will fit this appliance.

Love This Range!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Being a mom of 5 the oven gets alot of use in our house and there's little time to spare. The Samsung smart oven has been fantastic. Easy to clean surface mean no more digging out lost noodles from below and always a quick cleanup after meal prep. Warming zone is a must have for any stove. The ability to use front burners for large and small cookware is an added bonus. Smart connected features let me preheat even before I get home and also know when it's ready to use. Huge time saver. Well utilized oven space leaving room for taller dishes. Simple self clean function. With having a toddler I love love love the lock feature. Love the look with it's clean modern design with no back panel sticking up. Everything is up front so you're not reaching across hot pans or burners to make adjustments. All around a great buy.

A beautiful design
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently had my Samsung Front Control Slide-in Electric Range with Wi-Fi installed. Right off the truck, it was beautiful. I was pleasantly surprised at how classy and sleek it was. It fit like a glove and I was off to read the instruction booklet. The booklet itself is quite brief. Even with the added features of Wi-Fi and a touch screen, it really isn't much different than a much more primitive stove in terms of setting the clock and figuring out the buttons. I did a few test runs to make sure everything was in working order, and admittedly after I got the clock up and running (somehow the hardest thing for me to figure out) it was a breeze. The dials are designed as what I would describe as more of a gas rather than an electric range. Meaning, they spin both forwards and backward so you can start it high and work your way down and vice versa. It's an induction top and I happened to own an induction top before so my pots and pans are all designed for this feature. I also took this opportunity to run a test to see how long it took to get to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. I set the stopwatch on my phone and clocked a time of 7.25 minutes. That's great as I googled to see the average and it was 15 minutes. The burners took a bit of time to heat up. It seemed longer than I was used to, but this was its first go and I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt. I find using the dial on high works better than medium-high to actually achieve a medium-high burn. For instance, cooking a burger worked great on high. The oven cooks amazingly. The only (and I hate to say it) the bad thing is how quiet the timer is when it goes off. I was sitting in the very next room with little to no noise and it was almost impossible to hear. This never got better even after learning that noise as the specific tone to listen for. I really wish I could adjust that. It makes me nervous about missing it and burning food. The touch screen, while very sensitive has its quirks as well. The warming station is quite easy to accidentally turn on but also easy to turn off. Overall, this is a great range. I love the fact it has a built-in fan. I also like that it is so sleek but this unit will show every spill, every fingerprint, every smudge, every salt flake, etc... Also, cleaning the touchscreen allows for a lot of accidental touches however can be locked to help prevent. Wi-Fi is a snap. I have set the oven to turn on and had zero issues. Overall, wonderful. http
