Does this stove have a warming drawer?. One description states it does and another says it's a storage drawer.
Asked by: Temple
No warming drawer. It has a small bottom pull out drawer for pans our lids. The warming part is a fifth "burner" located in the back center that you can turn on to a few small light warming temps to keep things hot while everything else is still going. I haven't tried so I'm not sure how hot this warming burner gets. For example I don't know whether you could get things so hot as to burn yourself with the pan or product in the pan coming at or on you, but I don't think it will get quite that hot but might hurt a smaller person.

Almost exactly 30" wide, just slightly under. The height is counter height or 30" where the edge for the top of the burner platform is. 36" Total height for the top of the control panel and right around 25" deep.

5.9 cu. ft. Freestanding Electric Range with Self Cleaning and 5 Burners in Stainless Steel is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 82.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good, basic electric range, works well This Samsung range replaced my old Kenmore range. While very similar looking and comparable in feature, this Samsung has a two nice improvements. The first noticeable difference is the heating element speed. The heating elements on this range start glowing red and get hot in just a few seconds. My old Kenmore was fairly fast to heat up, but this Samsung is really, really fast. People who haven't used electric recently seem to think that there are downsides to electric, but having used both, I'm perfectly happy with the modern electric ranges. Gone are the old days of the exposed coil heating elements that took minutes to get hot--this stove is blazing hot in seconds. When using the full size 'double burner' elements on the front two burners, this stove puts out a lot of heat. I cooked a large pot of chili and had to keep turning the burner down, eventually putting it on "2" and the pot was still boiling. The other nice benefit of this Samsung model over the Kenmore is that both of the front burners are double burners. This may sound minor, but it's really valuable. When you want to cook with two saucepans, it is much more convenient to be able to use both front burners on 'single burner' mode. I think that difference alone is worth purchasing this model over another model that only has one double burner in front. I don't think I ever used the 'warming' burner on my stove, but I guess I should try it some time, as it may help avoid overheating something that we want to keep hot. One thing I do not like about these basic electric ranges is that the knobs are at the back. So while cooking, you have to reach over hot pots and pans to turn the burners up or down or set the oven. I've seen some electric ranges with the knobs in front, but they seem to only be the most expensive models. The glass cook top seems fine, and so far, it has cleaned up well. Several months ago, I tested several glass cook top cleaners from Home Depot. Based on the products I tried, I would recommend the Weiman brand cook top cleaner. It looks like Home Depot doesn't carry the "Weiman Cook Top Max Cleaner" anymore, but I would strongly recommend only using non-scratch cook top cleaners. Do not use abrasive cleaners, as I have personally confirmed that those can scratch and ruin a glass cooktop. One minor complaint is that this range only has two indicator lights for the stove: One indicating a burner is on, and the other indicating that the cooktop is hot. It doesn't show which burner is on or which burner is still hot. My old range had four lights, which made it easier to know which burner was on or still hot. A minor issue with the oven is that the metal gets hot when the oven is on. With the oven on, the top front metal edge of the cooktop is about 130 degrees. It's not enough to really burn you, but it will wake you up if you touch it. So I'm going to have to warn my kids to be careful when the oven is on. It looks like this model has an oven vent at the front, whereas my old Kenmore had a vent at the back of the cooktop, near the controls, so I'm guessing that's why the front edge gets hot. One problem with having the vent in the back is that it cooks the control panel--the knobs on my old Kenmore became brittle and cracked from the heat, and the lights popped out because the plastic clips all broke. So I'm willing to accept the tradeoffs of having the vent in the front. My wife had a pot boil over on this stove, which made quite a mess, but that made me realize that the metal edge around the cook top is raised slightly, preventing the liquid from running off of the stove. This is a nice unexpected benefit of this type of range vs. a full flat glass cooktop model that I hadn't considered. We don't use our oven a lot, but the oven looks nice and large, and has two chromed racks. The range also has the standard storage drawer on the bottom, which is very convenient for storing cookie sheets and metal pans. Overall, this is a good basic electric range. It's not fancy, but the stove is well designed and the heating elements work very well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MODERN...COOKS GREAT...INEXPENSIVE Not tough to say, but today this man's the cook, even though it's the kitchen remodel is the wife's pride and joy (not yet completed). This stove is perfect. Our old stove even though much like this had seen much better days. The boys always though you could cook on top of of a dirty burner, dropping items and leaving chips were in the ceramic top were left by leprechauns and dent's were the dogs fault. So with the color changes to stainless and black we still had a beat up old white stove that needed to go even though it still worked. Now let's get to the Samsung: First you'll notice a small extra bonus burner. This is not for cooking but to keep items warm because as we all know timing dishes to finish at the same time is impossible. You will notice there is no knob but a push button that will give you three warming settings from low to high, but not hot enough to burn. The burners fire immediately and there is no wait. So when you're ready just put on the pan or pot and begin cooking. The stove freaked me out a bit because when it arrived and was put in I took out the racks and no coil on the bottom? It actually has the coil on the back and the boiler coil on top. This seems to make absolutely no difference the few times I've used it. It heats just like the other stoves that have coils down low but I'm sure will be a big plus when it comes to cleaning messes. The inside light will turn on when the door is open plus a button on the panel you can use at anytime. The stove door also has a child safety lock I haven't used yet, but it does say comes with it but have no need at this point so haven't tried it. Also the hardware included gives you the anti-tipping catches so pulling out a rack with a heavy turkey on it will never lead to the stove tilting. The stove interior is seemingly larger and a big window helps you check things out. Settings are easy. The dials have a large red mark and are very visible. Setting timers and the time itself is simple. One thing that is different is it does not have an annoying buzzer but rather a pleasant chiming sounder. The bottom sliding drawer is smaller than some, yet others don't have any so it's just personal preference. We only use ours for lids so room is not a huge concern. I've include pictures even though the catalog display probably gives a much better impression. I definitely do embrace the purchase of this stove but have only had it for a short period so I do not have the long haul experience. I would say it's as every bit as well built and should last as long as the other that we've managed to destroy and it's kept going for the last 12 years.

I have to admit, I've always been fairly "cooking-challenged." I'm not a person who has ever enjoyed baking, broiling, boiling, simmering anything. My best friend in the kitchen was my microwave. But over the past three weeks, I'm actually starting to understand what all this "cooking is fun" brouhaha is all about. After the range was installed, I made sure to read the owner's manual-- a good thing to do, as there are several tasks the owner needs to complete before using their new range/oven. The first feature I absolutely love is the ceramic/glass cooktop. After years of trying to keep clean a 1962 range, this Samsung cooktop is heaven. And being a rather impatient cook, I appreciate how quickly the burner elements heat up-- ie, instantaneously. The variety of sizes and dual elements provide you unlimited cooktop options, depending your preparation needs. All controls are clear & easy to read-- even for a beginner. After trying out cooking on the range, I felt confident enough to start testing out the oven portion. Cooked a few pizzas-- no burning, very evenly baked. Same great results with chicken breasts. Broiled a couple of steaks to perfection. And-- wait for it-- I baked cookies. A person who had always loathed cooking, baking chocolate chip cookies. Given that my previous ovens all required hours of spraying with noxious cleaners, cleaning & scrubbing, the fact that this Samsung has three different cleaning cycles has me giddy. This Samsung range/oven has a host of features, many I've yet to try out (like the delayed start option), but it still is an appliance that doesn't overwhelm you with bells & whistles. Samsung is making me a cooking convert-- but don't tell anyone, I have an image to maintain.

I was very disappointed to find my new purchase was subpar compared to other brands. I had higher expectations for Samsung. THe buttons are nearly impossible to press and when you do press them the entire upper back of the stove gets pushed backwards. The storage underneath is like a thin piece of tin; very poorly constructed. If I could I would return the stove and look for something else of better quality.

This range is perfect for cooking a holiday dinner. The oven is large..great for a turkey. The 5 burners on the top also offer great versatility including 2 dual burners that save energy when only a smaller diameter burner is needed Because all food don't cook at the same speed, ... one of my favorite features is the "warming zone" on the top in the center of the back row. It is the perfect area to place things like sauteed mushrooms or asparagus that has already finished cooking. Finally, we love the big window on the oven door that makes it easy to see the progress visually of your meal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Replacement! This unit replaced a 10 year old Maytag. It fit perfectly and was breeze to hook up. I noticed right away that this oven heated up three times as fast as our old one! The twin size front burners are a real plus as well! The center burner is a simple three setting warming pad. No problem there. We've always had a use for something like that. The oven is quite a bit larger as well. I like that fact that the bottom is smooth vs having an electric heating element laying on the bottom. This also makes it a breeze to wipe up the occasional spill or boil over. Time will tell if it lasts as long as the Maytag, but we are well pleased with our selection!
