7.2 cu. ft. 240-Volt White Electric Dryer with Sensor Dry

it worked great for about a year and started making a loud grinding noise. purchased another one and the same thing after a year of use. it also leaves dark marks and burnt marks on my clothes. clothes get caught within the tumbler/drum inside. two dryers in two years. never doing samsung again.

This dryer works very well after about 10 loads of varying drying conditions. Like the accompanying Samsung washer, this unit cannot save changed settings; it defaults to its startup settings. Also, the HD installers (Phoenix - paid for installation and install kit) decided to make a 6-foot vent tube fit in a tight space. I asked the installers about this and they simply said to use the old vent tube. Aside from the above, the dryer works just fine.

The other reviewers are right. This is a really nice dryer. It has a large stainless steel drum, dries quickly and is very quiet. I love it! My only complaint is the design of the lint filter. Only half of it is covered. If there is an overflow of lint, it creeps upward to unprotected area. I just clean it after every load to avoid that problem. Also, keep in mind this dryer's door is made to open both ways. Be sure to let your installers know your preference; my installers didn't ask me and I didn't notice till after they left. I don't like the door opening left to right and now have to figure out how to change its direction to open right to left. Other than that, it's a great purchase!! I highly recommend.

Just moved into a new house so we needed a new, well, everything. This washer from Samsung did the trick. Great load capacity to handle both of our laundry in one go, a huge improvement from what we had at the apartment. We purchased the washer in store with the matching electric dryer, to be delivered on a set date. Delivery service was fantastic and installation was great. Haven’t had the unit for too long but so far, we have no complaints!

Capacity and noise level are the highlights of this set. I’m comparing to my old set which I inherited with the purchase of our home. We’ve been able to almost double the load size with this new dryer. Before we would need to limit our washer load because the dryer would not handle a full load from the washer. Our installer broke the water valve handle when installing the new washer so he was only able to install the dryer, which is silent and amazing! So far I am really liking this dryer. It truly is smart and detects the exact amount of minutes to dry your load of clothes. They come out exactly the right amount of dryness--no dampness and also not overly heated. I like how you can use the smart technology or you can manually set a time increment. It also has several settings for delicates or fluff dry. My only complaint is that the inside is dark grey and there is no light when you open the door so it is impossible to see if you forget to pull out anything. Our old dryer had this light and I am very surprised this modern unit doesn't have that basic feature. You also can change the orientation of the door to either side to best accommodate your space. I really like this Samsung dryer. It works very well and my clothes come out nice and dry. This dryer runs quietly and works to dry clothes quickly. The lint trap is so easy to remove, empty and return to the dryer. The cycle options are nice and it'll dry big heavy comforters without issue. I like that the door can be hung from either side. This came with the door on the correct side for us but I like that it can be changed if needed. The end of cycle tune is a little obnoxious and I so wish it had an option for a basic signal. I also wish this dryer had a light inside that would turn on when the door is opened. Overall, I'm pretty happy with this dryer and am happy with the results. We really like this dryer! It's geared more for medium, average loads, not so much the larger loads if you only want to have to use one cycle. We have had to run it a couple of times twice to get larger loads dry. Any of our king/queen blankets we will run through on a timed dry and pull it out, rearrange and put it back in for another 60min timed dry and depending on the thickness we generally have to just hang it to finish drying completely but that's to be expected unless you have a large capacity dryer. We have checked our dryer vents and lines just to make sure that wasn't the issue and those were clean. It dries quietly and as long as you keep your load the appropriate size it dries well and overall we really like it. We aren't crazy about the dry sensor. There are a few times we have had to restart the dryer or just use the timed dry setting to make sure a heavier amount of clothes gets dry. The clothes will tumble just right into a ball and the middle of the balled of items will still be damp. A family of five with three small children has A LOT of clothes to dry to we understand some of those larger loads probably needed to be toned down a bit in the first place. The lint trap is great! So easy to clean and it really grabs on to some of the annoying stuff that usually gets caught in the lint trap then falls out when you pull the trap out. That's not an issue for this lint trap. My biggest question is, why no light in the dryer? Its such a tiny inconvenience but once you no longer have it you realize how much you missed it. Still, we are very pleased. This dryer works well and dries a load quicker than my old dryer. The biggest complaint I have about this dryer is there is not light inside, and the inside of the drum is dark grey. These two together make it very difficult to see if anything is left after emptying a load. Another feature I like a lot is the timer shows exactly how much time is left in a load. This dryer is the most spacious and best dryer I have owned! It gets the job done and can handle big loads! The sleek design and great quality build makes this one of my favorite appliance purchases! Between the space and the sensor dry function (which is amazing) I'll never have to guess if my load is going to be dry the first time around!
