Poor Quality
just after warranty expires microwave starts displaying error when attempting to use any of the options (popcorn, defrost...). error code indicated an issue with some kind of gas sensor (don't have gas). also, commands and numbers stenciled on the operation panel started to wear off!! i had to get a marker and redraw on door (see pic).

Outstanding Dual Door Electric Range
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It’s time for a new Electric Range and after researching several option, I decided on the Samsung Flex Duo 5.8 Cu. Ft. Double Oven Electric Range in Black Stainless Steel. This is a dual purpose range and can be used as a single oven or two separate ovens. Samsung provided professional installation and it’s the highlight of my kitchen. After using the Range for a week, I am very impressed with the features, aesthetics, and ease of use.
The Samsung Electric Range is packed with features and the controls are very intuitive. The Owner’s Manual is very well written and easy to follow. I especially like the dual convection oven capability, multi-control large cook top burner, and Wi-Fi feature to preheat the oven using a smart phone. The front oven control panel is very well arranged and easy to use. The bottom warming drawer is also a nice feature and the black stainless provides a rich elegant look.
The Samsung Flex Duo Double Oven Electric Range is is probably the best non-commercial electric range available. Highly recommended!!

We went from a gas range to this electric one and even though I grew up using an electric range I’m less than happy with this one. The oven is the best feature it has. That works great and I love the double ovens. I use the upper (smallest one) most. It heats up very quickly and browns nicely. The timer is pretty useless also. It does not ring very loud and when it goes off the oven shuts off. I finally quit using it and bought a cheap tabletop timer that I can hear. The knobs are very very sensitive and come on at the slightest touch. Even when you just come in contact with one when you pass by! That has caused a bucket full of trouble. You have to be constantly aware of the burners being accidentally turned on or up. I’ve never been a fan of the smooth top ranges and this one has not changed my mind. But they don’t make an upper end electric range without the smooth top any longer. All in all, I would not purchase it again. Too much trouble with the knobs being turned on accidentally and I miss having a good timer I can hear.

Hello PamW! You can use the child lock (hold the Control Lock for 3 sec to lock/unlock) feature when the stove is not in use. It would not allow the stove to turn on. To use the stove you can unlock the feature. So I really love the two doors and having the separate oven controls. I have found that keeping the glass top clean and scratch free is impossible. I bought special cleaner and even bought very expensive pots and pans to keep the glass from being scratched and it still is getting tiny scratches. I also thought with the wifi I'd be able to turn the oven on remotely on my way home from work so it could pre heat but there is a safety feature that will not allow this. And the stove top is great but the fast boil option does not heat any faster then the normal heating option. Over all it's a great oven but was disappointed with the things mentioned.

I paid $2,200 for my samsung black stainless steel hub stove. The finish is chipping!!! This should not be happening especially how much i spent on this stove!!

I purchased a Samsung Washer, Dryer, and this range, ALL three items needed to be repaired within the first month or so of ownership. The dryer was badly installed, dented, and could have caused a fire. Samsung didn't do much about it.
The range display kept showing "oven cooling" when using the cook top, and blowing cold air straight at me when I was standing cooking. I called Samsung, and they said that should not happen and they would send a repair person OR we could have "accommodation", which they mean refund..> MINUS the tax. So, they expect us to buy a new range with the refund, and pay the tax AGAIN. NO WAY! We paid tax on a range, why should we pay tax a second time for an item because of a faulty item, and the the fact that we have already paid tax on a range. If you return something you paid tax on, you get the tax back as well.
Repair company told us it needed a new motherboard, but it was on back-order, a month. Then the tech comes out, and can't pull the range out, but leaves the motherboard at the house, and tells us he needs someone else to help him, and he will get in touch to arrange another time. A MONTH, nothing. I call Samsung again, and they arrange for another tech. He grabs the handle of the range and pulls... straight out, new motherboard in. A couple of days later (today) the range displays "oven cooling" when the oven hasn't been on in 24 hours. The display goes when you turn off the cook top.
This overpriced paperweight needs to go back.
DO NOT buy this item. Samsung really sucks on quality and service.

Not stainless steel
We purchased a "black stainless steel" Flex Duo range, and it is not stainless steel. It appears that stainless steel is a color in terms of Samsung's language. Check out the paint chip that happened within two months of having the stove, and there was no unusual wear/tear incident that caused it. Samsung says this is "cosmetic" and they will not warrant it. Very disappointing, and it seems I cannot even get a small container of touch up paint for it. Notice the small scratching all along the front from just normal cooking. Not worth all the extra cash, and not actually stainless steel.

Smart oven
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First impression matters and mine was very positive when I first saw (Samsung NE58K9850WS/AA) Slide-In Electric Flex Duo™ Range with Dual Door - it hasn’t changed since then. I am pleasantly surprised with the design of the oven, sleek, very modern and with front control panel all in stainless steel. The range is divided into two separate “mini” ovens that can be controlled separately. Once the divider is removed the oven automatically detect it and changes the display accordingly. Since it’s an electric oven the burners are covered in ceramic glass, there are 4 burners, 2 left ones have an additional divider for wider coverage. In addition, there is an additional place called warmer. The right one’s size can be adjusted depending on the pot. They all heat up pretty quickly. There is also an indicator if the surface is still hot. The knobs lit up in light blue, which makes it easy to spot from the far. Adding it to smartthings app was a breeze, all was done through a smartphone and process didn’t take more than 3 minutes. Now I can see what the temperature of each range is and see if the top burners are on or not. It also shows notification if it gets turned on. Very useful for those who tend to forget things, now you can check it on the phone. Controls are also possible, once you physically press smart control button on the range I’m very pleased with the purchase. Overall great product with tons of features.
