[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The SmartThings Tracker is a little tracking device that you can put on an item like keys, cellphones, wallets. Anything that is of importance to you. Easy to install. Just download the app and sign up for service. Although it's small in size it doesn't fit too nicely on a dog collar. It moves around too much. Tracking isnt always a 100% accurate. It varies I guess from location how accurate tracking is. That was my case anyways.

    bought this tracker sealed and tried to connect on app after registration and connected the app will immediately remove the tracker and will have to add the device again and again. connected with the customer service followed their instruction all they say is email the the log or invalid log .

      Good for my use case.
      i use this product to track athletes during triathlons. it works great for that, but i would like to direct some app improvement requests to samsung app dev team. setting - location updates - i would like to see 1 min, 2min, 3min, 5min added as options. i realize this reduces battery life, but i only need it to last 3-6hrs during a given race. by the testing i have done so far, i think the battery can handle this.

        Pretty but Horrible in about every way
        Absolutely horrible product. You can't use it without adding it to your Samsung SmartThings account, and it wouldn't let me add it. Required my date of birth and the only way to enter DOB was to click backwards from Jan 2020 through 600 months to get to my birthdate. Awful interface! I can't even use the thing. Will have to return it.

          Do NOT buy this tracker! I bought this for my son in kindergarten so that I would know when he leaves the school on the school bus and arrives safely to his daycare. It worked great for 2 weeks and I was very happy until the unthinkable happened. The gps gave me a false tracking notification that showed my son leaving the school and entering an empty field for 20 minutes then returning to the school. I called the school to confirm he was in fact in class and of course they were unable to give the information out over the phone so now I have no idea where my son is based on the tracker. Since my husband and I both work an hour away from the school (why we are using a tracker in the first place) and it was close to school being out, I had to have my sister physically go to the school to confirm that my son was fine and did not in fact ever leave thew school premises that day. So now not only have I made a huge scene at my child's school but I have also been frantically wondering what could possibly be happening to him in this so called location this tracker has placed him at. I will be returning and leaving this review everywhere possible. Hopefully I can save other parents from going through the craziness I experienced with this.

            Battery Life sucks
            Tracking is good but the battery life is very bad.. drains almost every other day. returned it after using it for few weeks.

              Poor battery
              My tracker worked okay at first. I wasn't thrilled with the poor response times, and the interface with the App can be inconsistent, but I shrugged those things off because it still did what I needed it to do. But after about 2 months the life of the battery went from 2-3 days inbetween charges and about 3-4 hours of battery life. I got this to keep in my 5 year old's backpack, I can't exactly rely on him to plug it in while he's at daycare so this has become a very expensive trial and error with something new from Samsung.

                Eh...
                When we leave our "bubble", no one gets an alert that Dax has gone out of his zone. When the tracker has lost it's charge - we don't get an alert. I could be taking him out, lose him, and the tracker wasn't charged that night and we had no idea his tracker was dead. It could be better.

Battery life is reflected based on how many times the device communicates with the server. Try using power save mode when the device is not in use. Also try adjusting the report time to a less frequent setting.                     Great idea
                    This is a great product but dont see that the charge is there for 10 days like announced. It would have been great to be able to add a sim card than just ATT.
