Q:Could I use this plywood for building a free-standing closet if I'm planning on painting it or would the cabinet grade sheets be better? The latter seems too nice to paint over so wondering if this would be OK to use instead..?

A:  I used this to build a dog bed. With two coats of primer and two coats of dark blue latex paint I could still see the grain. If that won't bother you go for it. You will need to do a decent amount of sanding.

      Answer This Question

A:  Hello. Thank you for your question. This sanded panel can also be used as an underlayment, designed for use in single-layer floor construction beneath carpet and pad. The span rating for a 23/32” panel is 24” on center. The span rating is based on application of the panel with the long dimension or strength axis across three or more supports.

          where's the QC
I paid $70 per sheet and as soon as I cut it both sheets split.

            One little concern.
For what I'm doing I like the smooth finish at the price. Eight 1/8" holes on one side are acceptable for my project. What is not acceptable is the loose nail sticking out of one side.

Worked great for 2 projects. One was a sliding barn door for a new opening in a local business.
