AnswersThey do not require assembly. You will have to set the bookcase into the base, which is on casters. The shelves are easily mounted with the provided clips, not tools necessary. If you will be using them over rough flooring you can optionally screw the bookcase to the base. Screws are provided for this. However, they sit very solidly in the base will not be an issue where and how I am using them.

This bookcase looks nice from the picture. But the reality is it is of very low quality, made of paper-thin sheet metal, easily bendable. Home Depot delivered one with lots of cracks. And of course you would not realize it until after you hauled it inside and unpacked everything and decided to assemble. Some minor bents may be fixable, but with cracks and peeled-off paints, this bookcase looks terrible! To return it, one would have to put everything back into the dirty and broken paper cardboard package, and that's a headache.

Received the cart in a timely manner. The cart appears to be slightly twisted (as it looks like it is leaning a little more to one side); it also has a small area where the paint is cracking on its one side, and also a little chip of paint off on its other side. This is most likely a manufacturing flaw. Other than that, it is functional.
