The radio part is an excellent product. The HD FM reception is a plus and well implemented. The sound and adjustability (treble/bass) is very good. The display is average,at best, for readability, and not well suited for a clock radio. This is too bad, as the progammability of the alarms is unusually detailed. The radio comes on (with the alarm) gradually! So, to use the Sangean, we have a separate clock, and it shouldn't be needed. Great radio!

Sangean is one of the few companies manufacturing an HD radio so overall the options are limited. With that said, I think it’s a very good product and performs well as a clock radio in our bedroom. It looks nice; the wood chassis is attractive. As others mentioned, some of the functions are odd. Example: the prestore buttons for radio stations serve dual functions, not unusual. What is unusual is that the radio station function is not default. However I use the remote control for everything so I don’t notice. I wish it had back up battery!
