Product Details

The Saniaccess 2 is a 1/2 HP pump system used to install a half-bathroom up to 15 feet below the sewer line, or even up to 150 feet away from a soil stack. It incorporates a macerating system which can handle human waste and toilet paper in residential applications. The blade is made out of a hardened stainless steel material which eliminates the need for any service or replacement. In addition to the toilet waste, the Saniaccess 2 will also discharge gray water from a sink. The wastewater will drain into the system via a 1-1/2" inlet which is located on the side of the pump housing. Note that either side connection can be used for the vent or as an inlet.

  • 1/2 hp motor spins stainless steel macerator blades
  • Macerator/pump plugs into a common electrical outlet
  • High-efficiency toilet dispenses 1.28 gal. per flush, worthy of epa's water sense distinction

Q:Can the gray water from a sink be connected to either side of the pump housing? In the diagrams I've seen it connected only on the left side and for my purpose I need to connect it to the right side.

Answer This Question

A:  This kit comes with the SFA model 081 macerating pump. That pump has a tap to receive gray water on only the one side. The tap on the other side is fore the vent pipe. The vent tap cannot be used to receive waste water. However SFA Saniflo does produce and Home Depot does offer kits that use other model macerating pumps that do have two taps rather than one. For example if you look at the brochure for the SFA 082 pump you will see it has a gray water port on both sides. I think your best bet would be to use a different model that better fits the application.

Q:what doesnt come with the kit that I will need to get to install?

    Answer This Question

A:  As a plumber questions like this confuse me because I know from experience that every job is different. Therefore I can’t be definitive. Generally speaking you will need three things. First a water supply line to the toiler. Second a waste pipe and a vent pipe. These two pipes take the waste and sewer gas back to the main waste stack pipe. Third you will need a power supply for the pump. An actual stock list would depend on what you already have on site and the plumbing code in your state.

Q:Can this system handle a small stand up shower plumbed to it?

      Answer This Question

A:  Typically you would Not want to use this Saniflo model if you intend to include a shower. If you intend to include a shower you would want a different Saniflo system. Allow me to explain why. If you look under the section of the listing page entitled, Additional Resources, you will find PDF’s of the product documents. It you open the specification sheet you will find a rough in illustration of the pump. Note that the bungs to receive the drain lines from additional fixtures are mounted up high on the unit. This is find for a lavatory sink. But this means you would need to elevate the shower significantly high so that the water could drain to the pump via gravity. For this reason people typically use one of the Saniflo models that have a tap for the drain line that is low on the pump. This greatly decreases the height to which the shower needs to be elevated. For example compare the rough in for this model to that of the model 082 pump. See Home Depot SKU 204253707. If you put this number in the search block on the Home Depot site it will come up.

        Answer This Question

A:  If you scroll down the Home Depot product listing page you will come to a section entitled “additional resources”. There you will find PDF’s of product documents. If you open the one labeled specifications, it indicates that this unit can be used in applications where you are pumping vertically up to 15’. We call the vertical lift height the head. And it, at the same time can pump up to 150’ horizontally. It also contains an illustration of the pumps performance curve. This is a graph that shows the pumps performance at different heads.

          Great Product
We purchased and installed this product 5 years ago, the instructions were simple( with a little touch up it would be perfect) The install took a little time however it saved the customer saved over $1000.00, vs tearing the cement floor up, digging out the dirt, plumping to the sewer, venting, packing the fill in dirt, pouring the new cement and letting it dry. The customer has be using it for the sink, toilet and tub/shower. They are very happy and haven't had any issues.

            not a DIY project
Works fine instructions are terrible and for the record 1/4 inch pvc does not easily come in a long sweep. Also no way to put this together without a 3inch pioe between toilet and tank with bent on top fyi home depot does not carry spare parts

It was somewhat complicated as not many plumbers have experience with a flush up toilet but once hooked up it’s working fine
