AnswersExterior entry knobs with key access are setup almost universally (if installed correctly) so that, if the knob is locked, you can still open the door freely from the interior while the exterior knob will not turn. With the door unlocked, both sides will operate the door freely. Doesn't matter if the knob is locked or unlocked with the key or the thumb knob inside.

AnswersSo they are keyed different, but it is quite simple to rekey multiples to the same key if they are the same brand. Try that. The rekey sets are around 9 dollars and do up to 6 sets.

Great quality and love the lever action versus a knob. Very easy, smooth motion and latching. Just wish I could have bought this without the lock. The only one I could find is a standard passage set which is not exterior rated. Plan to buy more Schlage levers for all my interior doors.

I love the look and feel of quality in products. I am a retired general contractor of residential and commercial properties in remodeling and additions. These Schlage Accent handlesets were researched and chosen for use in my home to make it more secure if someone were to break into the already secure perimeter of the exterior of my home. I wanted well built handlesets with quality key lock cylinders. Quality locking sets means that an intruder has to work hard and make a lot of noise to defeat them giving us precious time to react. However in daily use, opening the doors from the inside is as simple as turning the handle and opening the door. Locking from the inside though is done simply by turning the thumb lock a quarter turn.
I had a difficult time locating the finish of the locks that I wanted, Antique Brass, however Schlage had exactly that. The installation of all five was very straightforward and simple. They were designed to simply slide together without jostling them into place. No alterations were needed to the existing doors. I did not need to purchase left or right units either. One unit works both ways. It showed me that they put a lot of thought and design into making a classy, strong and extremely well made product. Schlage has been the top two choices in locksets for me my whole working career and now still, even after being retired for eleven years.
They have been installed and used now for a couple of weeks. I an confident they will outlast me. I am 76.

Product matches the Schlage Connect electronic door lock that I also purchased. I wish there was a rubber gasket around the edge of the outer piece, to provide better water-tight leak protection. Missing that gasket is why I took 1 star off. The Home Depot description doesn't have a picture of what the inside handle looks like, that is why I included photos with my review.
