A: Hello, The BE499 Encode Plus can be paired to an Android device however, since you will not be able to use the Apple HomeKit features you can purchase just the original BE489 Encode model which will work exactly the same on an Android device. If you have an iPhone and an Apple Watch this...

If you have an iPhone and an Apple Watch this lock is a MUST buy. You will also need to have the Apple TV on all the time or a HomePod because you need the home key. We ended up buying the HomePod mini and later upgrading to the new HomePod. Not having to take out a key to open the door is amazing!!! If you currently have a Schlage deadbolt you can easily switch out the locks (YouTube) and can keep using your current key for those just in case times. Husband purchased a different brand before this one and we were not happy and returned it. Buy the Encode Plus, it’s worth every penny!!! As of 3/2023 kid’s Apple Watch not connected to a cell phone cannot unlock the deadbolt, but you can make a 6 digit combo for them to unlock the door.

great functionality

Received and installed sucessfully. Had a few challenges as i am not having good DIY expertise. Gave a shot and installed it. Aligning back plate and screws was a bit challenging. Once installed, works flawless. Smooth operation and great quality from schlage. Much better quality than expected. Could connect to wifi and home kit right away. I was fortunare that home depot has satin nickel in stock. Bought camelot trim lever lock too to compliment encode plus dead bolt. A bit pricy but worth it! I should have bought earlier
