Camelot Antique Brass Electronic Door Lock with Accent Door Lever Featuring Flex Lock

We use this at our AirB beach house. Lots of heavy use by strangers as well as subject to the salt air beach environment. We email the code to renters. This will replace the unit we installed 5 years ago.

I read many reviews of key pad locks. This one seemed to stand out more than the others. I have it for my airbnb guests and it works perfect, only a 4 digit code that is easy to use.

Door lock was easy to install and has worked perfectly so far!(two months) The features are excellent. Leaving the door locked it always opens from the inside and when I leave there is no second guessing that the door will be locked when I close the door.Don't lose the paper work that has the 6 digit program code to re code your 4 digit password codes. They do have a sticker placed on the inside of the casing facing the door with this code but you will need to un assemble the lock to access it. But at least you know it's there just in case.The blue back light for numbers is nice when pushing the Schlage button on top.It was easily re keyed by Home Depot at no charge.Was not sure if handle would hit my porch storm door handle when both doors were closed so I bought a different color from Home Depot (brick/mortar store) installed it to make sure, then put it back in the box when I knew it would work.(about 1/2 to spare from hitting other handle) and ordered this bright brass color on line to match my storm door handle.Home Depot had no issues about bringing it back and returning it.Very pleased with my purchase. I didn't have a hole drilled in my door for a deadbolt. The standard 5 1/2 inches between centers WILL NOT work for this combination if you have pre existing holes drilled (Camelot electronic door lock and Camelot electronic dead bolt). No where does it show the dimension between centers. You can drill a hole as far apart as you want as long as both will fit. I called Schlage and they recommended 9 inches between hole centers. (yeah I don't know anything about no sweepstake entry.. not why I posted this review.)

Although I did not install the lock, it was very easy to use. I purchased it online from Home Depot. To unlock the door, you only need to put in your code which comes with the lock or program your own. However, you will need another door handle to help open the door. I used my previous Schlage door handle. The door automatically locks which is convenient. I like this feature over having to press anything to lock it. This is the 3rd keyless lock on the door, but this lock is much simpler to use. I have had this lock almost a month. It's elegant and I love the ease of use, design and color. One key comes with the lock. I would have preferred to have two. I'm happy with my purchase.

I expected the Flex lock to be a mechanical lock/unlock -- it is not. When the flex lock is turned to unlock, it simply throws a small internal electric switch, which allows the exterior handle to engage. But if the battery is low or dead, then no matter if the inside is "unlocked", you're not getting in from the outside. Changing the battery requires unscrewing the entire interior half. I would prefer some battery access door. Maybe if a battery lasted 2-3 years the hassle wouldn't seem so bad. I keep my door unlocked most of the time as I am usually around, but lock it when I leave for extended periods. Unfortunately, that's when the battery dies. My keypad seems a bit wanky, and I have to be very deliberate in pressing the buttons -- maybe I just got a flakey one. Finally, I will say I like it when it works, and the finish has held up well. It is attractive. However, the downsides outweigh the upsides, so I will be looking to replace it.

I am 58yr old female. I’m telling you this... it was pretty easy to install. I even Had to switch handle directions and instructions were easy. Voila!!!! If I can do it so can you!!!

Easy to install. Easy to program, if you follow instructions. Provides trusted children and trusted others access without a key. Looks nice on the front door, matches handle of all other Schlage looks in the home.

This is a great keyless entry option. We’ve had it installed about a month here in OR and through exposure to rain and weather, it seems to be just fine. I have only used the 2 pre-programmed codes for entry, but am looking forward to programming more. Perfect piece for our new door! Our contractor installed all items and I’m glad I added the deadbolt, it was tight so he had to adjust the deadbolt to properly fit - but these have been excellent so far.
