I am very familiar with this type of keyless lock...
I am very familiar with this type of keyless lock as I have used one for over 6 years in my old house. Unfortunately, this lock was faulty and malfunctioned within 3 weeks. The keypad stopped working and I had to get a locksmith to drill the lock as I did not have the key with me at the time I exited my home. Schlage has promised to send me a visa gift card for the purchase of another item. I would still recommend the company; however I am extremely cautious now.

The fit and finish is really nice. I did have to chisel the door jamb a little to get the new plate installed. Cool features include the auto lock (huge plus) and built in alarm (good for 3 min). I wish the iPhone app was a free service but I guess not everything is free. Overall I am pleased and time will tell if it last.

modern and stylish touchpad deadbolt
I purchased this deadbolt because it is rated ANSI Grade 1 Highest Residential Security and can be unlocked without a key. Very satisfied with the deadbolt. Also purchased a "special buy" door from Home Depot and Schlage Camelot Collection Accent Satin Nickel Keyed Entry Lever. Home Depot installed the door and locks. I get a lot of compliments from guests. I highly recommend the Schlage Camelot Satin Nickel Touchscreen Deadbolt with Alarm.

not smart
im returning this stupid lock. This lock makes you buy a smart hub that basically costs more or the same as the lock. The ring alarm hub is $249 and the Samsung smart things hub is $129. But Schlage makes the Schlage sense hub which is only $49 but its only compatible with schlage sense locks and not the connect locks. Why isn't there a cheap hub for schlage connect? I'll be returning this item and maybe I'll buy a schlage sense lock instead.

Excellent Lock!!
I bought this lock to replace an August smart lock. A thousand times better. The lock is not made of plastic (where the gears stripped) or three week battery life like the August. It is solidly made, the batteries last a year or more. It never gets out of sync. The keypad lights up brightly outside at night. So vastly superior to the August that you cannot even compare them. I was so happy when I threw the August into the trash. Love this lock.

This is my 2nd Schlage touchscreen deadbolt with alarm. I purchased the first one 3 years ago and it has never given me a problem. Well, maybe twice, the battery died. So, all in all, the deadbolt lock works perfectly fine besides needing to change the batteries once a year.

Didn’t specify which side of the door the key pad would be on. The only way it would work is if the key pad was on the inside which doesn’t make sense. After hours of trying to install we ended up having to return it.

Hello, we're sorry to hear you're unsatisfied with the BE469. This lock is universally handed. As stated in the instructions, once the lock is fully installed, you must type in a default user code before using the lock manually. This will extend and retract the bolt electronically, orientating the internal gears, basically "informing" the lock which side of the door it's installed on.
