Product Details

The Schlage Single Cylinder Satin Nickel Deadbolt features a strong, all-metal chassis to protect against attacks executed by kick-in, lock pick, crowbar, saw, wrench or hammer. Intended for use on exterior doors where firm resistance is needed, this deadbolt operates with a key on the outside and a thumb turn on the inside. It is designed to fit existing pre-drilled holes on most standard doors and includes an assortment of strike plates to match your door's recess. The warm silver tones of Satin Nickel complement light and dark wood grains in addition to a broad spectrum of colors.

A: No, unfortunately, each pair of deadbolts that I received do not use the same key. And, HD wanted to charge me $5 to re-key each one to match.

When someone buys a 2 pack- its because they want 2 of the same lock. If not they would buy a single lock qty of 2. Getting two different key locks in a 2 pack is really terrible design.

Great locks, Poor and Misleading Advertising

Schlage is a good, quality lock and I've always favored them. The only reason I did not give 5 stars has nothing to do with the lock(s) that I got, but it has to do with the misleading way that Home Depot advertised them. On the web site it was called a "2-Pack". In my previous experience that meant two lock sets that were both keyed alike in one pack. What I actually got was two sepatate lock sets in two separate packages with two different keys and, since I wanted them to use the same key, I had to go and pay extra to have one of them re-keyed.

Great value compared to buying two separately, even if you have to get one of them re-keyed. My only complaint is that the internal screw threading was not done properly on one of the locks. Consequently. it required quite a bit of force to get screws in and I damaged the screwheads a bit in the process. Otherwise, everything was excellent (and was I fortunate that my keys did match.) -Adam
