Not sure if I understand your question, but I'll try to answer. These are door knobs for the interior of the house, for bedroom and bathroom doors, for example. There's a key lock on one side of the door knob on the other side is a lock you can turn (from the inside of the room) to lock the door. Also, even if the door knob is in the lock position, you can open it from the inside of the room (the non-keyed side of the door knob). This is for safety reasons. For example, so an elderly person or a child doesn't get locked in the room in case of an emergency. The entire knob is the same color. There are knobs on both sides so this is a complete set for one door.

Yes, I had the locksmith rekey so all 9 door knobs used the same key. Seven of the 9 I installed were keyed the same so he only had to do two. I'm guessing it could be done in the store.
