Q:I had one for my garage door that if you inadvertently locked it from the inside and let is slam when it closed it automatically unlocked so I couldn't lock myself out. Does anyone know if this lock does that?

When we bought our home 4 years ago we purchased...
When we bought our home 4 years ago we purchased Schlage door locks , so while browsing the door handles for a pantry door lock, one of the employees names Tim said ,”you know we can key the lock to your current house key if you have a brand we sell here” and it so happened we did. I know it’s not a big deal , I just find it convenient that we don’t have to use any other key than our house key to open all our locks!

Schlage entry locks and door knobs are the best! I have been buying the Schlage Georgian Antique brass lock-sets for years, for my customers and my own homes. It's a quality product that lasts a long time, with little maintenance needed. They're not expensive, but they have the look and feel of top quality! Didn't get this last lock-set purchase installed just yet... still working on the remodeling project.

Purchased this lock set for Schlage exceptional quality. Used on ocean front condo and matched beautifully with my programmable deadbolt from eRentallock.com. I'll update as needed but I believe I will have quite a few good years of service from this lock even given the harsh saltwater environment.

Fell apart after 12 years. Try and call the company, on hold for 45 minutes, nobody picks up. They don't respond to Twitter or Emails, or the BBB. Seriously, just avoid this company's products. VERY poor. What am I supposed to do, mail them the knob at my expense, and wait weeks for a replacement?? it's an outside door!

Overall I'm happy with this product, however as other reviewers have stated - the locking mechanism does break if the door sees heavy usage. We put one of these in the fire door that goes to the garage - the lock worked fine for about 4 years and then the deadlatch broke. It couldn't close on its own by shutting the door, we would have to turn the knob to close the door. This is due the deadlatch mechanism breaking (see attached picture). I called Schlage and they stayed true to their word (lifetime warranty) - a new latch is on the way (7-10 business days). Will recommend this even though it broke because it is a nice looking latch, it is reasonably durable and the company is great.

I had a relative to put the door knob in, but it is working as expected and looks very nice - much like the other door knobs in the room.
