I understand how to load the dispenser, but I can't get the tape to release so I can start it....why don't you have a piece of paper or something at the beginning of the tape so I can pull it apart to load it into the dispenser? I have 10 I can't use.

Why do none of the packing tape manufacturers publish the thicknesses of their tapes. That's a critical parameter. Please publish the thicknesses of your tapes.

How get the tape to work with the dispenser? How get it to thread through?
To load the dispenser: 1. Lift brake and push tape onto the plastic hub so that tape unwinds adhesive side down. 2. Pull 2 inches of tape out from the roll and toward the blade. 3. To ensure the tape does not fall back on the roll, thread it through the two retainer posts on either side of the tape path. Operating: 1. Pull out enough tape to adhere at least 2 inches to the side of the box below the seam (caution - sharp blade) 2. Pull the dispenser along the seam. Apply hand pressure on the brake to provide tension for a tight seal. Use your free hand to seal the tape in place. 3. Continue down the side to desired length. Cut the tape by squeezing the brake and slightly twisting the dispenser to either side. Press or wipe down tape to ensure a good seal. It is really easy. There is a piece of “starter” tape you peel back snd then you just put the tape behind 2 tabs. I love this tape.
I had to press the tape against the sides of dispenser to get it to stay threaded and that only lasted temporarily. It doesn't work like the bigger dispensers used in most offices or warehouse settings.
what size is the core -- is it 1.5" or 2"?
