What in the world is a "temporary lawn"?

Answerhduser1, Scotts Turf Builder Quick Fix Mix Grass Seed consists of annual ryegrass. Annual rye grass is used in the south to overseed the lawn for winter greenup. It can also be used in other areas as a temporary or quick fix if something happens to the lawn and is not a good time to seed with a perennial seed. It's popularly used in construction areas to reduce mud until the new lawn can be established.
Has anybody planted this seed in Texas or somewhere in the south?

It works
I was hesitant to buy this because I thought nothing would fix my lawn after I had a pool removed last summer. It left a nasty patch. I tried different products & nothing seem to work. I read the reviews & I was like heck let me give a tried since it’s cheap. You do have to water it a lot which I haven’t & maybe that’s why it’s taking longer than I wish. But it’s been like 3 weeks I want to say since I first applied it. Like I said the instructions say water 3 times a day I think. I’ve been watering once & not everyday.

Planted seeds on may 26 and these are the results June 7th. We had NO grass whatsoever. Bought 1 bag to try it out. Bought more but still need to buy more to cover the rest of the yard. My yard had very dry dirt so we just watered it a few days before seeding.

It is really a Quick Fix.
Recently I had a drainage project, and I had to make over 110 feet of trench about a foot wide.
After the drainage project was done, there was no grass to cover over the trench.
It would be very expensive to get 110 sq feet of grass sod; plus labour and time.
I searched Home Depot, and found this Scotts Quick Fix and wanted to give a try, since I knew that the original St.Augustine grass will grow and cover up the trench in few months.
So for the quick fix, I sowed this grass seed and it germinated in about 10 days. Now it looks nice and covered the trench. Thanks Scotts.

Who says you have to plant in the Fall?
Late into the winter I realized I wanted all of the backyard to be lush green grass, rather than brown, dormant Bermuda Grass. It's late January by this point and my local Home Depot has swapped out all of their annual seed in favor of Spring/Summer varieties by this point. On the top shelf I see this Scotts 3lb QuickFix which is essentially nothing but annual rye grass so I figured i'd give it a shot. Following the typical overseeing procedure, I covered about 1500 sq ft with 3 bags right on January 26th, watered 3 times a day for about 4 minutes, and within 7 days I had young grass growing. Now 3 weeks later I've mowed 2 or 3 times already and have that lush green grass I had hoped for. Not too shabby if you ask me.
