hduser1, Scotts Turf Builder Quick Fix Mix Grass Seed consists of annual ryegrass. Annual rye grass is used in the south to overseed the lawn for winter greenup. It can also be used in other areas as a temporary or quick fix if something happens to the lawn and is not a good time to seed with a perennial seed. It's popularly used in construction areas to reduce mud until the new lawn can be established.
Yes in North Austin...but again in combo with Kellogg's organic soil...
Yes annual after ensuring proper early water support and possibly organic soil as supplemental growth support medium. Very cost effective.
No. It only lives for one year. "Annual" means it ain't taking over!
750 per bag ...but I prefer overseeding a bit to get denser growth in shorter period of time. Still VERY cost effective.
St Augustine..newest type.
Absolutely yes both in shade and sun.
Trust me, it's not needed. My grass grew back in less than a week. This is the fastest working grass seed I have ever used. BTW, the spot covered it with was nothing but mud!
I just raked my bare soil to make some growing channels for it, laid the seed and water....than watch it grow.
