Customer Reviews

Bonus S 5M 18.04 lb. Florida Fertilizer is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 584.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from This used to be a superb product I followed the Scott's yearly regimen for several years with beautiful results, but two years ago was working full time plus earning a masters degree so had little time for the lawn. Last fall I completed the masters program and began the Scott's regimen again with Bonus S Southern Weed and Feed applied in October 2013. All winter the dollarweed and several other weeds thrived while the St. Augustine lay dormant. I hit the lawn again in early March with Southern Weed and Feed but the weeds seemed only to grow faster and turn greener. A week ago I hit the lawn again with Southern Weed and Feed and left for a business trip. Came home today (3/30) to find that not only had the weeds not suffered at all, they had spread into further parts of my yard. now at least 1/3 of my front lawn is covered with dollar weed, fern like weeds, and other sorts. Where Bonus S used to work wonders, now it only seems to exacerbate the problem. I need to find something else before I lose my entire lawn.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Believe product killed lawn. Applied to part of front lawn in April 2018. That part is now dead.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Lawn Care Treatment For Southern Lawns We have centipede grass, also known locally as "poor man's grass" and we have the ever present $DOLLAR$ weed that grows and thrives until treated with Scotts Turf Builder Bonus S Weed and Feed. When treated as recommended, we have the most beautiful weed-free, lush, and neon green lawn and the envy of the neighborhood! It is simple to use. Just follow Scotts recommendations on how to apply and you will have a lawn to be proud of!! I recommend it to everyone and I would not use anything else. THANKS SCOTTS!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for 2 things; all purpose fertilizer or tall fescue grass killer only! Great fertilizer but winter weeds and dandelions were completely unaffected. The instructions mentioned all the weeds and other turf grasses Bonus-S would kill. Of the enormous list only 1 species of my mixed grasses yard was affected...tall fescue (rebel’s). Complete eradicated it? Not the clover, not the nutsedge not the floratam, dandelion, not the dollar weed, crab grass on and on... I waited hoping my Rebel’s fescue would bounce back but nope. Full disclosure, tall fescue is listed as something Bonus-S would kill but it’s actually the only thing it kills or controls!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from WTF.......Weed and Feed Killed my lawn Soooooooo, I have had a great looking lawn using Green Max fertilizer for the last few years. I decided that this year, for the first time, I would do the smart thing and try some weed and feed instead of regular fertilizer. So I took a trip to Lowe's and right by the front door, low and behold, they had about 10,000 bags of this stuff. So I bought a bag...bad idea. I put it on my lawn exactly like the instructions said and after about 5 days the lawn was completely dead. I walked across the lawn and it sounded like I was walking across corn flakes. I decided to water the heck out of it to wash out this lawn poison and after a month.......still corn flakes. All of the neighbors have been wondering what kind of moron kills their lawn. That was until like 10 other people in the neighborhood had the same bright idea and killed their lawns too. Turns out they all used this Lawn Napalm produced by Scotts. I have now had to re-sod everything. Just love wasting my time and money! Thanks Scotts!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Clover still there VERY DISAPPOINTED! Applied this product two weeks ago and yard is still full of clover and other weeds. We are seasoned home owners who have always done our own lawn care for 40+ years. After moving to Florida 8 yrs ago, the lawn care changed, but still relied on Scott's products. The yard was hand-weeded end to end one year, but still had weeds coming back AFTER applying a Scott's product. This year, we tried this new product because it specifically advertised for Southern lawns AND kills clover, dollar weed, etc. While some clover seems to have died off, not sure if that's from the colder weather or the product. MOST of the clover remains, as well as several other types of weeds. While I don't expect my lawn to be the beautiful lush green of my old house in the north, I do expect it to be grass and not total weeds, especially after applying a product. I had high hopes for this new product, but won't waste my limited money on it again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Killed my grass..Should have never used it Despite all the bad reviews I still decided to give this a chance. I followed directions to a tee. My grass was perfect, in fact it was my best section of lawn. But, I had weeds. Within a few weeks after using this product, I now have dead spots and browning everywhere. It did kill the dollar weeds within the grass - but now worse weeds are growing where the grass dead. Stay away from this product. This was used in Tampa, FL, St.Augustine grass.
