I applied in wet grass and we received light shower 12 hours later. Will this impeded the effectiveness of this product?

Yes, it will to some degree. For broad leaf weeds like clover and dandelions, Staying on the full 24 hours would have been best. The idea of applying to a wet lawn or dew covered lawn is for the particles to stick to the weeds and then sit for the 24 hours to do its thing. However, for crab grass. The rain didn't do a thing to stop the product from doing its job. This is a crab grass germination preventer and can be washed into the soil anytime. It won't kill existing crabgrass...that's why it should be applied early spring to prevent crabgrass germination. I followed the directions 100% and was initially disappointed in the results. Some weeds looked to be growing aggressively after the application. I read somewhere that this product makes the weeds grow themselves to death. I think this is true, In the end my yard looks much better than it has over the past neglected years.

I've been using Scott's lawn fertilizers and weed killers for years and they never let me down. This weed and feed bag always does a good job. I hardly get any dandelions and crab grass has virtually disappeared from my landscape. The only weed it can't seem to beat is creeping charlie. It comes back year after year no matter what I use. Easy to apply, it never burns when applied as directed. It's very hard to make a mistake when using the guidelines on the bag. I have a simple Scott's spreader and the bag tells me the setting I need, turn the dial and spread until it's all gone. Super easy! I love the deep green from Scott's products and the bag goes a long way. I've noticed that when using this brand, when we get long dry spells in July, my grass is faster to bounce back than other yards on my block once we get rain. the fertilizer encourages nice deep root growth and that helps a lot. I like Scott's and will continue to use them on my lawn. I highly recommend it.

This is a well formulated all around product for those who maintain their own lawns. The triple action is from killing weeds, preventing crabgrass, and nourishing of your lawn. It is best to apply when the lawn is wet to allow this product to stick on the leaves of weeds to perform its killing. This product is for a Spring application and re-apply four months apart; seeding of your lawn is recommended after four cuttings from applying this product.The packaging is very good in a strong plastic bag that will not rip apart easily given its weight of almost 51 pounds. This bag is for 10,000 square feet. This formulation is for northern lawns because of the common types of grass like Kentucky Bluegrass, Perennial Ryegrass, Tall Fescue and Fine Fescue. This product should be found in northern stores. There is a Southern formulation for common types of grasses in the south such as St. Augustine, Carpet grass, Centipede grass, and Zoysia grass and the on-line purchase may not take your address into consideration. .

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I tried Scotts Turf Builder, Triple Action, on my lawn this year. I have about 3,400 sq. ft of la... I tried Scotts Turf Builder, Triple Action, on my lawn this year. I have about 3,400 sq. ft of lawn and live in Northern Virginia. I applied per the directions in mid-April. There were a few weeds, but not many, and some died. As a fertilizer, it worked great. It made my lawn a deep green and it has held a lot of color as we near the end of summer. The real issue I have with this product is the prevention. Crabgrass is terrible in my area so I really need something that works well. After applying in mid-April, a few dandelions and patches of crabgrass emerged, but nothing too serious. Until the end of the 1st week of July that is. I could tell the prevention stopped working because my front yard was overtaken by crabgrass in about a 1 week period. Scotts claims this product prevents for 4 months, but I only got about 2.5 months of protection. I used a different Scotts product last year and had longer protection.
