This used to come in a cardboard box on a spool (300 ft in box). Now it is coiled tightly into the bucket like twine. The problem is that instead of unrolling straight easy to install spline from the spool, you pull out spline that has been tightly curled and wants to re-curl and not lay into the screen frame channel.
I had a 25 year old box of the 300' on roller which was running out and bought this bucket to finish a rescreening job, so I could make a direct comparison of using the old spline from the old and far better packaging with the new spline with the terrible packaging and the spline from the bucket was much more difficult to use. I recommend buying some other makers .175 spline or buying smaller quantities to avoid having to deal with twisted squirmy spline.

The spline worked great once we got it started. A couple of the areas we were screening were large and we had to lift the screen up to take the weight off to get it rolling, but so far it is working great.
