Questions & Answers

Is it tintable

Asked by: Noelle
Noelle, our Seal-Krete Slate Gray Epoxy-Seal has already been tinted to a gray color, and additional tint should not be added. We do offer our Epoxy-Seal in a white tint-base (920001) and a deep base (940001) which can be tinted to 36 different colors. Here is a link which shows the possible colors for the tint bases: http://www.seal-krete.com/epoxy-seal-concrete-paint.html

Our Seal-Krete Epoxy-Seal is a water-based acrylic epoxy, and while it is not flammable, this is not considered a fireproof or flame retardant coating.

This product is terrible, I followed all the instructions perfectly and then waited a week before putting anything back into the garage. Two weeks after painting the floor it rained, the paint seems to absorb the moisture and then it just peels off. Do not waist your money like I have done on this worthless product. Sorry HOME DEPOT but you should pull this product from your shelf.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad Product ***TOTAL WAIST OF TIME My husband and I spent so much time preparing basement floor. DAYS!! We cleaned and cleaned, used seal krete etching solution, scrubbed and rinsed. Let dry for several days and vacuumed thoroughly. Applied one coat seal krete epoxy, 24 hours later checked on how it came out and 60% paint came off with broom. In a worst predicament then started. Now i have to somehow remove the remaining paint and start over with something else. The money spent on 4 gal and etching solution doesnt even compare to the time lost. ??? Bad reviews seem to buried for this product... hum

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Seal Crete Coverage OK over the Lock-Down primer, but need two coats for good look, need three coats in some areas. Go with the more expensive products available.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from waste of time and money I followed all the instructions on how to clean the concrete and what to use to clean it before I put this stuff down. I put it down and let it dry the correct amount of time before I put down the sealant and let that dry before I put everything back in the garage. My garage was empty for an entire week to give this stuff ample time to dry and seal to the concrete. Not even 24 hours after I put stuff back in my garage was this stuff peeling up. The only thing that is in my garage is a a rolling toolbox, work bench and a squat rack. This stuff peeled up from me walking on it. I patched it and it peeled right back up. I contacted the company through FB and the lady was nice and told me who I needed to speak with. That guy was a total jerk and gave me a list of 10 things that I needed to do to see what the problem was. I had already sent them pics showing the 5+ places it was peeling. If I send you pics of what your product is doing why do I need to conduct a science project to find out what the problem is? I would not waste your time and money on this product.

It performs well and I usually paint every 2 or 3 years. I waited a couple days before parking the car in the newly painted carport and, so far, no tire marks. I love this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Would Not Use It Again I bought this product to paint my garage floor. I used the degreaser/cleaner as recommended. I pressure washed the floor. I acid washed the floor as recommended. I put two coats of the Epoxy Seal paint on the floor. I did not park the car in the garage for one week after I pained the floor. The paint started peeling up within one week. It has now been almost two months and about 1/3 of the paint has peeled. Basically, I wasted about $200.
