Will this connect with a metal screw type drain?
will this device stop water from entering the basement
That's the idea of a backflow preventer. It will prevent the sewage/water from coming up only where this has been installed. Keep in mind though, that water/sewage has to go somewhere...
Will this prevent water from coming up a 2" shower drain
This will only fit in a 3” or 4” pipe. It will not fit a 2”.
Will this stop sewer smell coming up from the drain?
No. The device sits in a naturally open position so it leaves the drain open and therefor does not stop odours. Pouring water down a trap drain will prevent smells from coming up.
Will this work as a horizontal application?
No it will not.
Greetings. My basement drain has a four inch opening but about two inches down is a smaller opening, only two inches across. I'm concerned that this product won't sit flush to my basement floor. Advice?
