We use this hamper for darks and lights and it's convenient to have two compartments in one unit. The natural grass composing the hamper is not indestructible, so maybe not the best for a kid's room. It holds a ton of clothes. One thing I don't like: the linen bags are velcro'd together, which seems simple and handy because they keep them all together, but it's a pain to unvelcro them and ultimately, you would not want to wash the linen bags with your load of laundry because the Velcro would snag anything delicate. We store our dirty clothes in here, but on wash day, I unload the dirty clothes into a laundry basket and use that to transport the clothes. Not a big deal, but it is an extra step. Still, this hamper looks way better than a traditonal laundry basket.

I really love this hamper!!! It is attractive and large, and is sturdy with a wicker exterior over a metal frame. It is really convenient now to separate whites and colors, with the two sides. It has two handles, one for each side. The two canvas bags can be removed for washing. It is nice enough to leave out in the bedroom, not hidden away!! Very impressed with the quality.
Item has strong odor too it, and inner bags fell...
