No, this PowerDetect and DuoClean Detect technology is designed with a self-cleaning brushroll that actively separates and removes hair from the bristles, preventing it from tangling and getting pulled into the dust cup, even with long or pet hair.

This PowerDetect does not include a retractable cord. To avoid damaging the cord, wrap it around the upper cord hook before looping it around the lower cord hook. This will reduce the strain on the cord where it meets the unit.
