A: Hi - They definitely make a straight 1/2" push to 1/2" Female Pipe Thread (see https://www.homedepot.com/p/SharkBite-1-2-in-Push-to-Connect-x-FIP-Brass-Adapter-Fitting-U072LFA/202270500).  This fitting is unusual in that it has "drop ears" and is usually used to plumb a tub spout or shower head.  I have never seen a straight fitting with ears.  Good luck!Â

A:Â On this push-connect the top is threaded 1/2 and the lower is the push connect. To release the push connect you need to push up on the plastic collar. There are a couple different tools made for this purpose one of which is just a few dollars.

A:Â Yes

A:Â Hi, The SharkBite 1/2 in. Push-to-Connect x FIP Brass 90-Degree Drop Ear Elbow can be screwed to a brass nipple as long as the brass nipple has Male National Pipe Tapered Threads (MNPT Threads). The push to connect end of the fitting will not connect to a brass pipe. If you have any more questions you can call tech support at 877-700-4242. (Kind regards,)

Convenient, rugged, high quality
I have used these for several high water-pressure applications, including shower installs and sink faucet feeds. They are excellent and absolutely leak proof, if assembled properly.

With this latest purchase, I have concluded the last project replacing all, and I do mean all, of the supply plumbing in our house. It is the third SharkBite drop-ear elbow I have used. I have used many SharkBite fittings. Every one continues to perform flawlessly starting with first round installed in 2014, the second in early 2018, and this one three days ago. Very easy to use. I would say at least fifty fittings used. They continue to meet my expectations , which, by the way, were created because of the first one I used!

I'm old school when it comes to plumbing repairs; I take pride in sweating copper joints. Then came the SharkBite fittings. No fuss, no mess and I don't have to worry about burning my house down when working in tight quarters with a torch. They don't leak, install in seconds by pushing onto the standing pipe. The SharkBite 1/2" elbow can be rotated after installations to achieve perfect alignment. Considering overall time and materials, I believe, a project can be done cheaper using SharkBites, certainly a lot quicker and safer!

I used this fitting recently as part of a new plumbing assembly in my laundry room. Specifically, I used these drop ear elbows to secure new washing machine valves to then plugged in my PEX assembly. I later secured the elbows to the wall with cement screws, the screw holes had enough room for 1/4" screws. The picture provided was before I secured them. I had no leaks. Instructions say the tubing should go in an inch, I found they go in about .8" or so. Although a bit pricey, these fittings and PEX made easy work. It took me an hour and a half to complete the job.

Did the job
I was looking at different ways to attach my expansion tank for my water heater and this allowed me to securely hang it from the rafters without any unsightly straps or other contraptions.
