Hi, Mark. We are sorry to hear about the confusion you experienced with the SharkBite 3/4 in. x 5/8 in. PEX Reducing Coupling. This fitting is intended to only be used with PEX pipe. PEX adheres by CTS (copper tube size) which is based off of inner diameter. We do not recommend using this fitting with any other application. Item is more like 5/8" x 1/2"I bought it for a something other than its intended purpose but 3/4" should be 3/4" no matter what I'm using it for.

We apologize for the poor experience you have had with the SharkBite Coupling and we understand your frustration. SharkBite PEX fittings as well as other PEX fittings are named by nominal size, which does not match the exact dimensions of the product. If the product is used on any pipe other than PEX and outside the intended purpose of the product (for potable water/hydronic heating applications with PEX tubing only), it is possible it will not match the particular pipe's sizing standards that are being used. We do not recommend to use SharkBite PEX Barb fittings on anything other than PEX. Please contact our Customer Service Team at 1-877-700-4242 so we can further assist.

They're a great item, but for what I needed them...
They're a great item, but for what I needed them for (wine bottle tiki torches) the fitting was too big and I had to return them. The young woman at the counter was very pleasant even though I was returning 40 of these.

size is not a true 3/4" x 5/8". I need to join a standard 5/8" garden hose with a 3/4" tube. This is slightly too small, maybe 11/16 x 9/16. Too loose. Otherwise, the quality looks very good.

This is a fitting to transition from 3/4" PEX Tubing into 5/8" PEX Tubing, this is not for use with Garden Hose. If you go to your local Home Depot they should have what you need in Brass Fittings and Tubing bay and can also accept a return for this fitting. Sorry for the inconvenience but appreciate your commentary on the quality! It is an excellent quality fitting but only intended for use on PEX Pipe. Thank you!

Needed a 5/8 x 3/4 coupling for an automotive heater hose splice. The sizing must be a plumbing spec only because its more like 1/2 x 5/8 in standard inch measurements. Couldn't use it but quality and shipping was good.
