SharkBite PEX tubing is cross-linked polyethylene tubing for a wide range of residential and commercial plumbing applications. PEX Pipe is durable, flexible and corrosion resistant. Manufactured without an oxygen barrier for potable water systems (available in white, blue, and red). A repeating SharkBite imprint patterns provides a visual aid to determine if the tube has been inserted all the way into the SharkBite Push-to-Connect Fitting. This feature only works if the tubing is cut between the SharkBite imprint patterns. In addition to Potable Water Supply SharkBite PEX meets UL Standard for Plastic Piping in Fire Systems.
  • Strong, flexible, corrosion-resistant pipe
  • Flexibility reduces number of fittings needed to complete a job; reducing cost and leak points
  • Can be installed wet or dry for immediate pressure testing
  • SharkBite imprint pattern provides a visual aid to ensure pipe is fully inserted when using SharkBite push-to-connect fittings
  • SharkBite system provides a variety of connection options; SharkBite PEX can be connected with SharkBite push-to-connect fittings or barbed fittings
  • Listed to NSF 14 and CSA B137.5 for use in potable water systems
  • Meets UL1821 standard for plastic piping for fire systems (3/4 in. and 1 in. only)

Can I use pex pipe for my Water well? It's 107 feet deep.

Asked by kitten July 11, 2015

I myself have not used pex for drop pie n a submersible pump. I think that is what you are asking. I would never use it instead of rigid pipe for a jet pump system. For a submersible, I use a polyethylene tubing that is made for submersible pump drops. you might want to call a local well supply house in your area and ask them what to use. If your well is drilled to 107 ft. I doubt the after level is that far down the water head is probably only 50 ft or so.

Yes it can be used for that purpose. I usually just use the blue and mark it at the facets which is which.

IS YOUR PEX PIPE PEX A OR PEX B ?????

I have used both kinds. type a is flexible and the ends can be expanded a little to get a barbed fitting in. Type be is not expandable and you will risk cracking the tubing if you try to expand it enough to go over a barbed fitting.

can this pipe be buried under ground?

Asked by MadeinMaine September 3, 2019

Answers

Hello, Yes, SharkBite PEX tubing is suitable for burial in most areas. We do recommend checking with your local AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) for approval in your area. Please be aware our brass fittings are approved for burial but our fitting wrap must be used to prevent potential contaminants in the soil from negatively effecting the brass. Below is a link to our silicone wrap along with a link to our installation instructions. Please see page 4 our installation instructions for burial requirements and instructions on how to use our burial wrap. There is also a link to a video that goes over how to wrap a fitting. If you have additional questions please feel free to contact our technical support department at 877-700-4242. http://www.sharkbite.com/product/sharkbite-silicone-wrap/ https://www.sharkbite.com/sites/g/files/rgohfh321/files/2018-05/SharkBite_Installation_Instructions_2018_WEB.pdf https://www.sharkbite.com/resources/video/how-wrapping-sharkbiter-fittings-underground-installations Best Regards,

Can you put this pipe in the ground?

Hi, Yes, you can bury this pipe in the ground. In areas with harsh soil conditions, it is a good idea to use a polyethylene sleeve to protect the pipe.

can I use an expansion tool with Uponor fittings instead of Sharkbite or clamps?

is this pipe suitable to use underground from service meter to house?

Asked by christi June 23, 2018

Answers

Yes, SharkBite PEX pipe is approved to AWWA C904 which covers PEX pipe in regards to burial. Be sure to check with local, city or state codes to see if the pipe needs to have sleeves or any type of protective burial for your area. PEX pipe can be used as a service line based on its corrosion resistance to soil and water, its long life, and its oxidative resistance. Very think Wall, I even burn it to see the resistance and is really good. We indeed up running 500 linear feet of pipe. I am very impress with the quality. Inside of pipe is just a little under 1 inch. But I would definitely recommend. Even if you buy 3/4 inch I notice is same quality.
