PEX A fittings
Whether it be new construction or remodeling, PEX piping has become very popular due to its ease of installation and versatility. There are two major differences in PEX piping and fittings. Both types of PEX are made of cross-linked polyethylene. However, the methods used to join them and connection fittings are different. PEX A uses the expansion method and PEX B uses the crimp method. PEX A offers superior flow to PEX B due to its larger inside diameter of connection fittings. These fittings are only used with PEX A and are Tee fittings used to make branch connections of ½” to ½” to ½” PEX A tubing.

sturdy tee
SharkBite Pex-A expansion tee These expansion tees are very handy. I use them with the drip system. When I need a three-way connector for the garden, I use this little plastic piece. It is very sturdy hard plastic and once I attach it to the ½” tubing, it does not come loose. I have been using these little tees for many years and never had one break.

Great for a home repipe
The SharkBite ½ in. PEX-A plastic tee is used when you are using an expansion tool to fit the piping over the fitting, rather than crimping a ring around the pipe onto the fitting. The PEX method, aka Wirsbo or Uponor, is a superior method of connecting plumbing. These fittings have barbs go on the end of the piping and help form an even tighter seal and they have an integrated stop that make them easy to work with. They are good quality in my opinion.

Great quality
The shark bite pex-a 1/2" tee fitting a very high quality part and very reliable to provide years of service. The part is part of the pex a line of fitting which is the expansion type of fitting for plumbing which speeds up the install time of the pipe of the plumbing system's of the building. It cuts down the amount of labor required to assemble the pips and also eliminates the need of needing to soldier the joints.
