Answer This Question
A: Hi, The SharkBite 1/2 in. Push-to-Connect x MIP Brass Adapter Fitting will connect to a water spigot if the spigot has FIP threads. The water spigot typically has GHT threads and the two aren't compatible. If you have any more questions you can call tech support at 877-700-4242. (Kind regards,)

A: I used it to connect to galvanized iron pipe. I think it should fit a water spigot but I didn't use it for that.

I recently purchased some sharkbite fittings to repair a busted pipeline in the walls not favorable to soldiering. These sharkbites were a lifesaver to the homeowner.

Saved The Day!
If you're replacing a water heater and you purchase the Everbilt Water Heater Installation kit then you need to buy these. Throw away the tension nuts with the kit immediately. They are complete junk. Just watch a YouTube video for quick install.

Sharkbite holds on whether it's tubing or PVC
The Sharkbite fittings are excellent for assembling tubing or pvc pipe, they are very well made and the brass holds up well for either above ground installation or underground service. For the tubing you can go long distances without a bunch of fittings to clean and glue. They come in all sizes and make a big job go fast.

Great for use with replacing our hot water heater project. We used these on both ends of a stainless steel shut off valve off both hot & cold lines to isolated area for any future repairs or Maintenance as opposed to having to drain the home house.

I had a PEX line break in a area impossible to get to without de constructing a cabinet, or so I thought. A friend told me about SharkBite and it took less than twenty minutes to repair the system and return water to the house. Easily installed and leak free for the past month with no real reason to expect a leak in the future.

Used these for installing a replacement whole-house water filter. The old filter was about 30 years old & needed to be replaced. Compression fittings would not stop leaking so I used the SharkBites and what an amazing difference! After applying sufficient Teflon tape to the Bites, they screwed in nice & snug. Then it was securely inserting the pipes on either side. Done! No leaks!

I’ve used these fittings on ¾” PEX and ¾” copper and they are fast, easy, and tight. In this case, I have 1” PE well line connecting through a brass barb fitting to a 1” FPT check valve upstream of the well tank. At 25 years old, the PE pipe would not come off the brass barb fitting… thus I had to cut the PE pipe and replace the end. I wrongly bought a 2ft section of PE pipe at HD with a plastic barb fitting, and then “fit” the PE pipe into this sharkbite. It was a tiny bit too big. It was hard to start, even using the sharkbite tool to prepare the end, and I had to tap it in with a rubber mallet. It was leak-tight but I’m not sure it will ever come apart. My bad. HD sells 5 or 10 ft lengths of Sharkbite PERT (high temp PE) pipe. In this situation, I should have mated a length of PERT to the plastic barb fitting on the old well line, then slipped the PERT into the Sharkbite. This would have mated and disconnected easily. Unfortunately the HD employee I asked about this had no real idea, and just said it might not fit.
