Product Overview

  • Manufactured in the USA
  • Strong, Flexible, and Corrosion Resistant Pipe
  • Can be installed wet for immediate pressure testing
SharkBite PEX tubing is cross-linked polyethylene tubing for a wide range of residential and commercial plumbing applications. Manufactured with an oxygen barrier for radiant floor and hydronic heating applications (available in orange). The oxygen diffusion barrier applied to the exterior limits oxygen permeation through the tubing wall in hydronic heating applications which prevents corrosion of ferrous metal parts in the heating system. A repeating SharkBite imprint patterns provides a visual aid to determine if the tube has been inserted all the way into the SharkBite Push-Fit Fitting. This feature only works if the tubing is cut between the SharkBite imprint patterns.
  • Strong, flexible, resilient pipe that provides superior temperature performance
  • Oxygen barrier helps prevent the corrosion of ferrous metal parts in the heating system
  • Flexibility reduces number of fittings needed to complete a job; reducing cost and leak points
  • Can be installed wet or dry for immediate pressure testing
  • SharkBite imprint pattern provides a visual aid to ensure pipe is fully inserted when using SharkBite push-to-connect fittings
  • SharkBite system provides a variety of connection options; SharkBite PEX can be connected with SharkBite push-to-connect fittings or barbed fittings
  • Manufactured and tested to meet or exceed the requirements of the ASTM F-876/877/2023 and CSA B137.5
  • Meets all UPC, IPC and cUPC requirements

Questions & Answers

What is the difference between the Orange PEX at $168.50 and the Blue PEX at $129.00?

We need this for a boiler to run water 300' underground at about 120 degrees F. to a radiant heated floor in an outbuilding. It will be installed in a conduit (2" Sched 40 PVC) with an electric power supply at 24" depth.
Asked by: AndEnergy
for the record this is PEX-B not PEX-A color does not indicate type. they are very different and use different connectors. PEX-A uses expansion tool and fitting and will not work with crimp rings.

What connector can I use to hook this up to 3/4 black pipe

Asked by: Tone
You would need to use a SharkBite female threaded adapter. Then you can install PEX pipe into the push to connect side of the fitting. If you have further questions, please contact Customer Service M-F, 8am-5pm at (877) 700-4242.

Make sure you have plenty or room to bend around corners or plan to cut and install 90 deg corners. Also, if using crimp rings with a crimping tool made for 1/2", 3/4" & 1" like I did, you will need to slide cheater pipes onto the handles to get the crimp started.

It will twist and bind up on you, and if you’re unlucky, smack you in the face. You need to measure what you need, cut it, then untwist it so it’s close to straight.
