Hot or cold. All SharkBite PEX Pipe is can be used on hot or cold water lines and is guaranteed for up to 200 degrees and 200psi. The red, white or blue colors is just so you can designate lines and not get them crossed up during installation. I know of no reason why it could not be run outside. However, if you are in a colder climate, you need to bury it below the frost line or drain the line in the fall.
Yes. It can be buried but it needs to be below the frost line for your area and should be bedded in sand or gravel.
This PEX is rated for direct bury....but I would trust it more with tree roots and things going over it to be in PVC. But it IS rated for direct bury....you just have to keep sunlight off it and in the ground.

I ran this from my backyard to my front yard above ground so I could hook up a hose. The pipe has held up well for the past two years, but I drain and cap it before winter starts. I would expect leaving water in it over the winter would cause problems.
