It features a standard three-prong grounding plug with a total length of approximately 3 feet (36 inches). For a clean and proper installation, the official manufacturer guidelines recommend positioning the dedicated electrical outlet box within the upper left-hand side of your cabinet cutout opening, or alternatively, routing the cord through a 1.5-inch diameter access hole into an adjacent cabinet. The power outlet is on the back, top left corner (looking from the front). The cord is not flush with the back of the microwave , so some space has to be allowed for.  Personally, we love the microwave.

The unit only includes standard mounting screws, its attached stainless steel faceplate, and the integrated power cord. If you want a completely flush-mount installation or need to fit it into a wider 30-inch opening, you will need to purchase Sharp's optional deflector vent or extension trim kit accessories separately. The kit helps redirect heat and airflow away from adjacent surfaces, protecting cabinetry and ensuring the unit operates within the manufacturer’s specifications. I don’t know.  Measure your existing opening, then see “product details” for measurements. Most manufacturers will specify the size opening needed.  Or research your existing M/W for its dimensions and compare.  I replaced a kitchenaid M/W and had to adjust the existing opening to be narrower from top to bottom so that the Sharpe would look good (I’m handy with woodworking).

While both are 30-inch models, the physical cutout requirements have changed over the generations. The new model requires a wider and taller rough opening. If you prefer a flush mount so the front sits completely flat with your cabinets, the required opening is 24-3/16" wide, 16-7/8" high, and 23-1/2" deep, and the internal shelf must be strong enough to support 100 pounds. Please note that Sharp strongly recommends having the unit installed by a certified installer to ensure proper dimensions and tools are used during installation.
