The boxes arrived in good shape with rigid cardboard, not corrugated, material on all four long corners of each box. The longest pieces are about five feet in length and there are about 9 of those in a box. The shortest are a bit more than a foot and the other short pieces vary up to almost 3 feet. I thought there might be a few more knots in the surface because of the wood species but there aren’t that many. I am not sure how to describe the finished look. It is just a bit hazier than I would have thought from the pictures on the Home Depot page and that makes the grain just a bit muted. Seems like the finish will resist wear quite well. Time will tell. As far as the installation, mine took longer than usual since I put down poly and 1/4 inch underlayment to bring the floor up closer to the tile in an adjacent room. I found working on the underlayment easier than working on the poly. I bought a WEN flooring nail gun that you can get from the Home Depot for about $60. I was able to use it to anchor all but the very last row and the wall-edge of the first row. That is one advantage of boards this wide. The pieces cut cleanly on both my miter saw and table for crosscuts and rips. I found tongue-and-groove engagement took a bit more effort for 3/8” hardwood than ¾” hardwood I had worked with in the past but, then again, I am 20 years older than the last time I installed hardwood. The only thing left is to install the quarter round, which will be white to match the baseboard. That’s easier than trying to mix stains to match the finish and matches the quarter round in the rest of the home. I’m pleased with the overall finished effect. Now there will be less dust in the walk-in closet with the 20-year-old carpet gone. Call this product a strong 4 stars. I tried augmenting the light in the closet with a work light for photos and the result was washed-out color in some photos. Consider that in your viewing.

SHAW HAMPSHIRE SANDBAR 3/8 IN. T X 6-3/8 IN. W X VARYING LENGTH WATER RESISTANT ENGINEERED HARDWOOD FLOORING is a quality flooring product. It is simple to install if directions are followed. When starting cut 8 to 12 inches off the started will make a nice pattern. Be sure to leave about a 3/8 inch wall spacing to allow expansion for moisture seasons. There is a flooring tool sold at Home Depot Stores to assist easement of the job.

Shaw…. Hampshire Sandbar 3/8 in thick x 6 3/8in wide x varying lengths Water resistant Engineered Hardwood Flooring (30.48sq. ft. per box). Arrived in perfect condition and was well packaged. I picked this flooring with two specific areas in mind, our two closets one which is a bit small and the other is pretty small this hardwood flooring is just the right amount for this project , It is very well constructed and engineered it is not only beautiful but the textured feel to it is amazing. It features a repel water resistant technology and a 3 ply Engineered Hickory Hardwood finish in a low gloss wire brushed look, as far as the hardness of this flooring it is comparable to the hardness of mahogany or chestnut, You also have an installation option glue, staple, nail or float. Unfortunately I can’t get anyone to install it for a couple of weeks, but we can’t hardly wait it is going to look amazing.

This is a 3-ply engineered Hickory hardwood. It appears to be real wood on top and bottom with a center core of the high density hardboard material. The material is extremely dense and shows no warping out of the box so it will be easy to install. It has a low gloss, wire-brushed finish. It is not glossy and is durable and easy to care for. It contains the characteristic knots and rich graining of the real wood. The tongue and groove design makes it easy to assemble and the random lengths form a natural look. Planks have beveled edges so there will be the appearance of gaps between boards. You can nail, staple, glue or use an adhesive. I would highly recommend adhesive to avoid any appearance of nails or staples. This floor comes with a Lifetime residential warranty. This is a great flooring product and will make your room beautiful.

The Shaw Hampshire Sandbar 3/8 IN. T X 6-3/8 W X Varying Length Water Resistant Engineered Hardwood Flooring is a great product. It is actually a darker color than the picture and has a smooth surface. I have gotten water and mud on it, and it wipes off easily. There are no splinters and it is comfortable to walk on. The beveled edges look very finished. The pieces are generally in four different lengths, although there are some additional variations. There are enough of the same size to create a neat wrap. I only had to cut a few pieces at the bottom so far. It was nice that there were a few rows that I did not even need to cut. I would never have thought of putting hardwood in the entryway, or kitchen but this is resilient and easy to maintain. The underside is not finished, so I would probably not place it in areas where there is excessive dampness or the potential for flooding. It was also very easy to install as Tongue and Groove, and I use Eurobond to reinforce the seams.

I was looking for some flooring to use that would not raise the floor site and the Shaw Hampshire Sandbar 3/8 in. T x 6-3/8 in. W x Varying Length Water Resistant Engineered Hardwood Flooring was perfect. The pieces are 3/8 in. Thickness x 6-3/8 in. W x random length planks so it gives the look of a solid flooring. The floor itself has many layers as with a hardwood base and a real hickory top with several coatings, including Repel Water Resistant Technology, so this flooring can be installed anywhere. Note this is not click and lock and must be installed via nails, staples, or adhesive (which you can float. The coloring from the pieces I have worked with seem very uniform, which I was a bit undecided upon. I was hoping for some more color variations but the pieces seem to be very similar stain/color wise. The one thing I noticed was the T&G beveled edges. Some seem a tad high, which is fixable but would be concerning if you had to installed many cases of them. Hickory engineered hardwood with just the right amount of texture Wire brushed, matte finish gives a vintage aesthetic Features Repel Water Resistant technology Real domestic Hickory hardwood 3/8 in. Thickness x 6-3/8 in. W x random length planks

This flooring is very nice. It’s color looks good and gives the feeling of looking at real wood. The tongue and grooves on the ends are easy to put together and it sets together to form a waterproof seal. All the boards in each box are the same size and not varying lengths like the description says. As you put it together, you just push firmly to set tongue and grooves tightly together. Very nice product.

This flooring is beautiful and relatively easy to install depending on your chosen installation method. I installed this as a "floating floor" over level vinyl flooring. You can also get coordinating trim pieces from the Home Depot to finish off your room. Each case of this flooring comes in a tall skinny box (about 68" tall x14" wide and 2-1/2" deep) that weighs about 50 lbs so you may need some help moving them. There's about 30.5 square feet in each box with random length planks. They are 6-3/8 inches wide and 3/8" thick. I love the grain of the hickory hardwood and the color difference from plank to plank is minimal. It's low gloss and has a wire brushed finish on them. There's also beveled edges which makes it look really great. You can install this wood flooring above grade, on grade, below grade and you can nail it, staple it, glue it or click together as a floating floor. I was a little disappointed in that many of the planks had lifted edges (where it connects to the next plank- see picture) and I had to take the time to gently bend them back by using pliers so that they would slide into the groove of the plank it connects to. This took a lot of extra time since many of the planks were like that. There were also some planks that had broken corners so I had to use those as end pieces so that I could cut off the broken end. Shaw suggests that you get 10% overage when ordering to account for cutting and I would definitely agree with them. The color of the planks were slightly darker than I anticipated but not as "yellow" as they looked online which I was happy about. Some of the graining was also a grayish color which I loved. Once installed, the flooring looks absolutely beautiful and I really like that it resists dents, scratches, and scuffs and has a layer of water resistant technology. It also has a hardwood veneer bottom which I included a picture of. I don't think you can sand this flooring like you would be able to do with thicker all wood flooring because the wood on this plank is a thin veneer over the other layers. Aside from the issues I had with the connection to each plank, the flooring is beautiful and looks high end.

Relatively easy project I’ve never laid laminate flooring before or any tile so it was a learning experience. The boxes of flooring are very heavy and should have two people move them and less you’re very strong. Each box comes with pre-cut and pieces inside pieces. Looks very sharp when you’re done I was able to do the inside of my shed approximately 11 x 10’ with three boxes. Looks really sharp.
