An underlayment is not required with this flooring but our Groundworks and Hush II can be installed under this flooring. This flooring is a direct glue, so the underlayment will need to be glued down and then the flooring glued to the underlayment. Fully functional HVAC systems are the best way to ensure temperature and humidity control.The permanent HVAC system turned on and set to a minimum of 65°F (20°C) or a maximum of 85°F, for a minimum of 7 days prior to, during, and after installation. We will mix and match the Forest, Overcast, and Meadowland flooring to create a multi-color pattern that will blend together. The project is still in the planning stages right now. Our home was built in 1959 and was used mostly as a summer retreat. The existing wood has many dings and gouges. Bondo makes a great filler to level out the substrate. A rubber roller works great to press the laminate down onto the adhesive. If you press along the vinyl it develops a surface tension and snaps back. This effect is small, but could lead to gaps in the flooring that would make both the flooring and the installer look less professional than they are.

Luxury Vviyl plank flooring is an awesome invention - it gives a nice wood finish, yet it's 100% waterproof. There are certain areas where this product makes a lot of sense. We use it in the kitchen, hallway, bathroom and laundry room. Anywhere where water is going to be present.
Installation: This is not our first attempt at installing Luxury Vinyl plank flooring. I've done it two other times, so I'm getting much better at it. The pros - super easy to trim, lays nice and flat and installation goes fast. The cons - the glue is super messy, any damage to the subfloor shows through and it's easy to get things off square (edges are not parallel to the wall). The method I use is - I first make sure the sub floor is good - no divots and flat. I start at a doorway, then cut the pieces and lay them out. When i get to the edges, I carefully cut them to size and lay them on the floor. After all the pieces are cut, I go back to the doorway and pull a few rows of planks. I then put the glue on the floor and use a trowel with short "v" shaped notches. I then let the glue dry until it's no longer tacky, then I carefully lay the plank and push it in place. Then I do the next plank until I'm at the edge of the glued area. I then pull more planks and do the same until the floor is done.
How does it look: I don't think many will confuse it for real wood. Yes, the planks have grain and a nice pattern printed, but it's definitely not wood. I will say that it looks good and it makes the room look good. I posted pictures of the vinyl flooring near the cabinets and appliances. It definitely looks much better than the old flooring.
My rating. I love this stuff, so it gets a 5 star. Appearance is really nice, but please know that it's not like a real wood floor. Quality is good and it feels like it'll last a long time. Ease of installation is 3 of 5, because of the messy glue and waiting for the glue to "dry" before laying the planks.
I highly recommend this Luxury Vinyl plank flooring!

This is a nice product that is not only good for floors, But as you can see in the pic below It can be used for a wall decoration as well. In my RV the walls are covered with 1/4 inch lauan plywood. I decided to put this up using Roberts 2057 VCT adhesive(from Home Depot). It will cover the walls well and will add an extra layer of protection and insulation. Easy to cut with a razor knife and a straight edge, an easy DIY project for any level of skill. Whether your using it on a wall or floor it works well and adds protection. Looks great and easy to do...

We needed to update the flooring in our mudroom. It had original red oak flooring from the 1950s and we were reluctant to replace it with a vinyl product. However once we saw this product and reviewed its durability, we were sold. It was easy to put down with mastic and it looks amazing. I took the pictures of the floor during the layout. It is much more weather resistant than the old wood flooring and my wife loves it.
Install note: Most strips have a light side and a dark side running the length of the strip. It's critical to match the dark sides to the next panel. It looks amazing and the spaces between the strips completely disappear!

The flooring pattern is varied so this gives you a few options on how to layout your pattern. We used this in our laundry room since the floor drain is lower than the other parts of the floor, the 6 ml thin floor contoured easily down the grade. Installation is really simple. If you have done any other time of laminate or floating floor, you start out the same. We used a quarter gallon of adhesive for our laundry, roughly 80 sq ft. The finish seems to be okay, but time will tell if it lasts.
