I was asking about the attached (included) underlayment for this particular floor . Shaw Melrose Oak (Barnboard Resilient Vinyl Plank Flooring), not a generic definition of underlayment. In addition, for floating floor installation without glue, can refrigerator, oven/range, dishwasher be installed directly on top of the vinyl floor and not affect warranty?

Shaw Melrose Oak Click 9 in. x 59 in. Harvest Resilient Vinyl Plank Flooring is ideal for areas where water is splashed. The installation method is the owner's preference. This product is waterproof flooring, which means that it would take 72 hours for standing water to penetrate the seam. This flooring can be installed in a bathroom, and we would recommend using silicone caulk around tubs, toilet flanges, and other water sources. We appreciate you sharing your questions concerning Shaw Melrose Oak. We recommend regular sweeping, vacuuming, or dust mopping daily to remove dirt and debris. If you vacuum, do not use a vacuum with a beater bar. Clean your floors using Shaw Floors Hard Surface Cleaner or an equivalent cleaner that is neutral pH, Zep - sold at Home Center Stores (neutral pH) Zep - concentrate @Home Depot https://www.homedepot.com/p/ZEP-1-Gal-Neutral-Floor-Cleaner-ZUNEUT128/202204696?modalType=drawer Simply spray the cleaner on the floor and use a dry microfiber mop pad. The use of steam to clean resilient is not advised as the extreme temperatures could affect the glue bond and the forced moisture could affect the seams. We appreciate you reaching out to us with your question concerning Shaw Melrose Oak. This flooring has an attached underlayment and an additional underlayment can be used but is not required. The requirements for installing on a concrete slab are: 1) Floors shall be smooth, permanently dry, clean, and free all foreign material such as dust, wax, solvents, paint, grease, oils, and old adhesive residue. The surface must be hard and dense, and free from powder or flaking. 2) New concrete slabs must be dry. Maximum moisture level per CaCl test method is 8 lbs. per 1000 in 24 hr. Maximum level for ASTM 2170 In-situ Relative humidity test method - 85%. 3) Do no install over concrete with a history of high moisture or hydrostatic conditions. 4) Ph level of concrete should be between 5- 9 5) The final responsibility for determining if the concrete is dry enough for installation of the flooring lies with the floor covering installer. The wood species of this flooring is Bolgehri Oak (white oak). With the high color variation, you should see both the grey and the oak.
