Questions & Answers

How do you apply stain to the pad? How do you eliminate excess stain from the pad?

How do you apply stain to the pad? How do you eliminate excess stain from the pad?
Asked by: Dee
Get a paint pan and fill it til the bottom reservoir is full. Dip the pad in, then mush it down on the "washboard" area above the reservoir and you will see the excess stain leach out of the pad. I found that when I applied my stain quite generously on my deck boards I had very little waste. The pad, when it's not falling off the frame, does a good job of applying the stain.

Can I use this 9 inch DECK pad to apply paint to an interior wall with your 7 inch paint pad handle (3955106N)? I liked using the 7 inch pad for walls but the 9 inch would go faster.
Asked by: frank
I'd be reluctant to use it for interior painting. Perfect for more rough deck staining, handles nail heads relatively well, but take the time to pound them down before using the applicator.

How exactly does the lock tab work to keep the pad from sliding off?

I have tried pushing on the tab in different ways but it doesn’t really do anything. Am i missing a part that enables it to work properly?

LIFT THE TAB UP TO ALLOW THE PAD TO SLIDE ON THE HOLDER. IT LOCKS INTO THE GROOVE ON THE PAD

Can the deck pad be cleaned and reused? If so what solvent?

Asked by: Dave
These pads can be cleaned and reused. The type of cleaner used to wash them will be dependent on the type of paint used.
