Siemens offers a wide array of thermal-magnetic circuit breakers that are the key element for overload and short-circuit protection of your home’s electrical system. To provide additional protection Siemens offers circuit breakers to protect against severe electrical shock or electrocution, mitigate the risk of electrical fires and protect against damaging surges and-Voltage spikes. Circuit breakers are intended for switching and protection of your home's wiring from high temperatures caused by excess current higher than the rating of the wire. While thermal-magnetic circuit breakers are the key element for overload and short-circuit protection of your electrical system, there are potentially dangerous conditions that do not involve over current.
  • Double pole, 100 Amp, 240-Volt type QPH circuit breaker
  • 22 kA interrupting rating
  • Siemens type QP circuit breakers provide easy plug-in connections in Siemens enclosures
  • Compatible with Siemens PL and ES series load centers

Questions & Answers

what is the difference between a QP breaker and a QPH breaker ?

what is the difference between a QP breaker and a QPH breaker ?
Asked by: sparky
the size of the wire it can handle can change also There was a design change in the 60A Type QP. This should now read "Accepts #8-#6 AWG Cu or #8-#4 AWG Al Wire." The change is on the 10kA rated 60A breaker only which is now has "low-amp construction." Previously, a Q260 was identical to a Q270. Now a Q260 will match an existing Q250. To keep the high-amp construction please opt for the 22kA rated Type QPH catalog number Q260H which still accepts #8-#2/0 AWG Cu or or #8-#2/0 AWG Al.

Is this breaker series-rated with downstream branch breakers?
Asked by: Mike
Refer to page 7-214 of link for series ratings at 240V. The Type QPH breaker does series rate with Type QP and other common branch breaker types. https://digitalcontentcenter.compas.siemens-info.com/documents/20181/375293/SF-17-Sect-07-ALL-web.pdf
