Siemens offers a wide variety of air conditioning disconnects. All enclosures are outdoor rated, single phase and are either 30 or 60 Amp rated. Padlocking provisions help prevent against unauthorized access. Options include steel or plastic enclosures, pull out or sliding switch disconnect, fusible or non-fused and options with GFI receptacles installed.

Sizing of the upstream breaker is dependent on the amperage demands of the loads being serviced and the gauge of the wire feeding the loads. Please consult with licensed electrician for proper selection per the NEC. The switch itself is rated for 60 amps,

Contractor is responsible to adhere to all local and NEC codes when installing the product. This is just a 60A fused disconnect. Connecting a 20A receptacle from the load of the 60A disconnect will not protect the receptacle from overcurrent. It requires a dedicated 20A upstream protection.

If you have a properly rated circuit breaker no you don't have to be fused. The breaker is located in the service panel, usually inside your home and supplies voltage to the outside disconnect. Check local codes to be sure.

will this disconnect be suitable to use for a 240v 140k BTU outdoor pool heater?

Hi Leon, You would need a 60 Amp fuse for this AC disconnect. I would recommend reaching out to an associate in the electrical department at your local Home Depot to get the SKU number of the fuse that you need.
