How many circuit breaker fit in this box ? If you can show a picture will be great thanks

Answer

Please see wiring diagram link. E0816ML1125S is an 8 space load center. Up to 16 circuits can be wired using Type QT breakers. https://www.downloads.siemens.com/download-center/Download.aspx?pos=download&fct=getasset&id1=BTLV_42727

I have this panel and then got drywall installed around it. Can you purchase a flush mount panel ...

Answer

A replacement cover for the flush version E0816ML1125F can be quoted special quote through Home Depot but it may not resolve the issue. The panel may recessed too far and there is no spacer kit for installation within the enclosure to move the interior out. You may want to contact our Technical Support at 1-800-333-7421 before ordering a cover. They may ask for pictures showing the dimensional discrepancy.

Answer

E0816ML1125F is 8 space 16 circuit. Please see link. Consider using with Siemens Type QT breakers which can be used in all positions with the restriction that the sum of QT breakers not exceed 110A per stab. Consider the following breakers: Q22050CT for 2pole 50A + (2) 1pole 20A, Q22020CT2 for (2) 2pole 20A, and (2)Q2020U for (4) 1pole 20A. This arrangement would be in compliance with the QT restriction and allow two spaces for future use. https://www.downloads.siemens.com/download-center/Download.aspx?pos=download&fct=getasset&id1=BTLV_50367

What are the two "bent nails" that come with the panel used for?

Answers

Instead of driving the trim screws down onto the device before packaging, the plant uses these pieces to help keep the trim on the enclosure during shipping. They are not needed for the install and can be discarded once the device is ready to be used.

Which Siemens breakers does this panel accept? Does it accept QT type?

Asked by James August 24, 2018

Answer

Yes Siemens Type QT is a UL approved branch type for E0816ML1125S. To download the wiring diagram for 0816ML1125S which shows a chart with all UL approved branch breaker types, go to link below and click on "Downloads" and enter 0816ML1125S in the search box. https://w3.usa.siemens.com/powerdistribution/us/en/Pages/low-medium-voltage.aspx

Do you have a conversion kit to turn this to either 125amp or 100amp main breaker?

Asked by Howie July 8, 2018
1
Answer

E0816ML1125S can be converted to main breaker by backfeeding a main installed in the 2 & 4 positions. This requires the use of the ECMBR1 breaker hold down kit. For 100A consider Q2100. For 125A consider Q2125. These are the 10kA versions. Breakers with higher interrupt ratings are available. This is all shown on the wiring diagram. To download the wiring diagram for this item go to link below and click on "Downloads" and enter E0816ML1125S* in the search box. https://w3.usa.siemens.com/powerdistribution/us/en/Pages/low-medium-voltage.aspx

Oh, I didn't realize the included bar was already insulated (so suitable for my neutral). So as you say, I should've bought a regular ground bar (ECGB14) instead of an insulated one (ECINSGB14). I guess I can use the inuslated one I bought for neutral, and then bond the one that comes with the box to ground.

For any given electrical wiring contract, I usually have to visit 3-Depot's before I can get everything needed! All Depot's are not created equal either, which further frustrates me. In short more product needs to be on the shelves and this 8-circuit panels need to have flush mount covers!

Good sturdy box with many options for box entry. The plastic tabs where breakers attach seem a bit flimsy but not issues with them. Would recommend otherwise.

This was perfect for my use as a sub panel for home use. Well built, easy to mount with convenient knockouts on all four sides. Priced right, too.

Is easy to use and does the job... but....
There are no surprises when you buy this load center. However, I was surprised to find that Siemens doesn't include a ground bar, and the ground bars that you buy at Home Depot that go with it are either too large (the holes don't line up) or to small (not enough room for 16 circuits.) In the end I went with the smaller size bar that has 12 usable circuits. I also found the finish to be poor - the top of mine just wasn't straight and the door fits poorly, but it fits. Other things I noticed was that the neutral bar is quite loose. It's of course isolated from the rest of the panel, but the bar itself isn't fixed to the plastic housing in any way, so it tends to wobble. You still get tight fits though. The 1/2" knockouts in the top are attached with more metal than I'm used to, so knocking them out basically resulted in me adding a bit more warp to the top. And this was with me being as careful as possible. Finally, I never figured out how you're supposed to use those bent nail connectors that somehow, what, allow you to attach the front panel? There are no instructions as though it's some kind of secret only electricians know about. I honestly have no idea what they are for. I'm giving it four stars because it does the job, but I'm taking away one star because it feels like not much thought went into it's manufacture.
