I’ve heard that you cannot pour boiling water on this product or it will crack. I know we’re talking countertops here, but what are the heat tolerances, i.e., setting a pan full of very hot liquid on it?
Asked by: CA
As you said, a bit extreme, but it is a countertop. Haven’t had any problem with ours, but I try not to ever set a hot pot/pan directly on it, as it may take the finish off and open the surface up for stains, always at least a folded towel or hot pad underneath. Have had some spills and “oopsies,” but the counter has weathered those quite well.

I heard that quartz is brittle and will cracked if anything is dropped on it. True or false

You're thinking of natural quartzite, which is also sometimes used for countertops. Natural quartzite, although beautiful, can be quite brittle compared to granite and engineered quartz. This countertop, and most others advertised as "quartz" are engineered quartz and are very strong. They're made by grinding up the quartz, mixing it with polymers, resins, and compounds to give color. Engineered quartz is man-made and not naturally occurring like granite or marble, but it's made of about 90% quartz which is a naturally occurring mineral, and it's the same crystal found in quartzite, just processed in a way that makes it stronger.

Can anyone comment on the color? It looks kind of creamy or beige; is that accurate?

I've seen it made up into a display kitchen and it was a very subtle muted light grey with medium gray wide lines. They had the back splash in cara marble and it almost matched perfectly. It's so helpful to see large samples of colors. I was almost set on white arabesque...now I wonder if lagoon would be better with my light grey tile. The lines in lagoon were not as dark and dramatic as white arabesque which are a very dark grey, almost black. Hope that helps you! Hope I can decide!
