      A:  I don't know whether individual shelves may be purchased.  I built mine with the regular number of shelves.  I did purchase extra shelves for another unit.  You may want to check the weight limit per shelf before adding additional shelves.

        A:  There is no indication on the item page that additional shelves are available, through Home Depot. You might contact the mfg for more information.

          A:  Because of the manufacturing configuration, you are limited to the number of shelves that are included with each unit. A 5-shelf unit is limited to 5 shelves and cannot be extended.

              Answer This Question

              A:  Description states 200 pounds per shelf when evenly distributed but could not imagine 1,000 pounds and rolling it around. I have about 300 pounds loaded amongst the shelves and it feels solid rolling on my smooth garage floor, could probably go quite a bit more perhaps 500 pounds.

              A:  Weight limit is listed at 200 pounds per shelf when the weight is evenly distributed. I would say I probably have 300 pounds on the entire shelving unit and it is very stable but cannot imagine anything close to 1,000 pounds spread between all the shelves.

              A:  I would add that since the shelving is narrow, there should be substantially less than 200 pounds on the top few shelves to stop it from possibly tipping over when rolled. Bottom-load it.

                A:  While the rolling storage shelving has a 200 pound rating per shelf I would not load it with that much. If you plan to load 1,000 pounds I would look for a more robust unit.

                1 of the shelves came broken, and another came bent. I contacted Home Depot and they are telling me to take it all back apart and repackage the unit. Send it all back over 1 shelf I am asking to be replaced (the broken one)? Seems a bit much, but I guess lesson learned buying wire shelves online. So no I would not recommend buying this unit.

The shelving is beautiful and large enough to fit all appliances and then some. The wheels are large and very sturdy with locking wheels. I would like to buy another one if I had more room.

                  I have bought many of these units over the years....
                  I have bought many of these units over the years. Although the poles and connectors and shelf size and configuration are the same (meaning they are interchangeable), the shelves are a bit flimsier than the older ones I have.
