Would you use this to start a business?

AnswersAbsolutely! This thing is a beast with plenty of power that shows you are using Professional level tools, yet the price makes it a good value. A great value if you can wait for one of the HD 10% off coupons. The only bad thing, is that it is unwieldy and about 150#. The HONDA motor has plenty of power at mid throttle, so for most of my use, it is actually quieter than my smaller washer that I have to run at full power all the time. The only real question is the AAA pump that I think is Simpson's generic brand. CAT brand pumps are the best, but washers with the CAT, usually part of the 'aluminum series', are several hundred more. I decided not worry about it, get at least a few years use out of the stock pump, and replace it with a CAT for a few hundred if the AAA wears out.
Is the down stream injector considered before or after the pump?

AnswersBen, The identification of a triplex pump would be correct for both the AAA pump and the Cat pump. CAT PUMP would be the manufacturer and triplex pump would be the design. Triplex pumps have 3 pistons running off of a crankshaft.

AnswersSpraysam, The major difference is the frame and pump. The PS4240 has a steel frame and utilizes a AAA Triplex pump with a Limited 5 year warranty. THE ALH4240 Has an Aluminum frame and comes with a Cat Pump with a limited 2 year warranty.
Can 75 ft garden hose and 150 ft pressure washing hose affect my psi?

What a beast!!!
I bought this unit after borrowing my dad's greenworks 2000 PSI electric pressure washer which is nice and a little quiet than this unit if the unit is not at full throttle, but there is no comparison. This unit is a beast, easily handles anything you throw at it. As a matter of fact I was using this unit at maybe 1/4 throttle 85% of the time. I've only used this machine twice but I know that is it heavy duty and its going to last me years to come. The one thing I don't like is the pressure hose, compared to the electric unit it is way more rigid and thicker. Now I understand that it has to be able to handle 4200 PSI so it can't be as flexible as lower pressure units but it seems to be high quality, time will tell. I've used this machine with a stainless steel 15 inch surface cleaner and with 3/4 throttle the surface cleaner would literally take off!! The engine starts at the first pull and you don't even have to pull hard to start it, also the engine is super quiet, I thought that it was going to be loud but honestly is very quiet at half throttle or less which honestly is all you are going to need except for surface cleaners you might need a little extra throttle, you can't go wrong with the reliability of a Honda engine. I don't know anything about water pumps but this one seems to be for heavy duty use, again time will tell. This unit has exceed my expectations and I would highly recommend this unit if you want to do professional pressure cleaning!!

Finally clean driveway and side walks
Bought the Simpson 4240 at Lowes along with a Surface Cleaner. First use was our front driveway and side walks - the combo did a GREAT job. Between the Simpson's high pressure/high volume output with a stainless steel 15 " surface cleaner - the job went quickly with wonderful results.

Powerful!
I bought this on April 17, 2018 and very glad I did! I've used it only once for a couple hours on my sidewalk and driveway and man does it have power and do an awesome job in a short time!!! All my neighbors are wanting to hire me and my new toy out! Lol

I have used it to clean my driveway and house. It worked very good and with the use of a turbo nozzle I was able to clean my driveway faster than I could with a 3500psi 2.5GPM unit. It will take the paint right off your deck or stairs if your not carful. I plan on repainting anyway so it was fine by me.
Next time I want to rent a surface cleaner for my driveway and this pressure washer should have more than enough power to use it.
