Best post support on the market. I needed support on a second story deck and searched high and low for something I would trust with my families safety. Came across this one and was sold. Installed this and gave several hard tugs in each direction and it didn’t budge. Costs a bit more than others but you get what you pay for. If safety is a concern this is the only way to go.

Good option for cement, but not long lasting
I have use these for about 10 years to put up a fence along my driveway. It’s the best option I can find to mount fence posts on a cement driveway; however, I am in the process of replacing them for the third time because they just eventually break after a few years. Last time I even doubled up my posts going every 3 feet, instead of every 6 feet, in hopes that they would last longer, after the last windstorm. Now I just replacing more brackets, did not really get any extra life out of them.

We used lag screws to secure this to a sawed off tree stump. Then a 4x4 became the post for an elevated cat platform. There is enough room within the base to make minor final adjustments to the angle and levelness of the post before securing with screws. The Simpson post base is very sturdy and should last a long time.

We used the Simpson Strong-Tie E-Z Base for posts to stiffen our 8' X 18' two car garage door against hurricane force winds. We secured them at the bottom by drilling holes in the concrete floor and dropping 1/2 inch bolts through the holes in the base into the holes in the concrete. It is more than strong enough with two 2X4s screwed together dropped into the base and secured at the top with a 2X4 between ceiling joists. The posts are easily to remove quickly and store when not in use. It is very strong and it's easy to assemble and install.

I was a little apprehensive about using this as it just seemed like it would be more work/hard to mount. However I had a large concrete set of footings that I needed to use with brick or concrete block, cut out spaces or remove them. I found this base mount at the Home Depot and decided to give it a try instead of cutting up a bunch of concrete or removing it. They worked great. I installed a row of them quickly and they are strong and secure. The posts went into them easily and mounted securely, cant say enough good things about them, they did everything they were supposed to, no question, great solution for a concrete area, easy to use and extremely strong. All in all I have to say that I was more than impressed by this item.

Used this on a deck after a storm nocked a tree down and snapped a 4x4 post to a deck railing system. The fit is very tight for a standard x4 Pressure Treated Post so you will have to shave it a bit. It really helped get the job done and saved a bunch of time.
