What's the difference between this (LUS24Z) and the LU24?
Asked by cmkeller September 23, 2020ZMAX® is a thicker coating (galvanized per ASTM A653 with a G185 coating) than the standard hot-dip galvanized coating (galvanized per ASTM A653 with a G90 coating). This thicker coating is available on select Simpson Strong-Tie connectors.
Could this be used to attach a 4x6 beam to a tree for a swing set?

If using the structural screws, is pre drilling required or recommended?
Asked by Res July 9, 2020No predrilled is not necessary. However if you are close to an edge it is recommended to avoid splitting the boards

What size of screw is recommended to use
Asked by June 27, 2020Simpson has a web site that will give the specifications and installation requirements for its hangers. I used the 1" X #10 framing screws that were pre packaged in the framing section.
